I booked through Hotwire for $61 per night. The hotel is lovely. We were put in a non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor. The room was huge. The beds were comfortable; the pillows were fine. The A/C worked great.

The shower curtain did smell a little sour but that is not big deal.

The walls may have been "thin" but the place was very quiet. We had no issues with noise.

We had a very nice stay.

Stayed one night at the Doubletree. The location was easy to get to, plenty of parking and very nicely tended grounds. The desk clerks were all very friendly and helpful and genuinely seemed to care if you were enjoying your stay. So were all the waitstaff in the large, pleasant dining room. We had the breakfast buffet ($12) and it was a good way to start the day - plenty to choose from and made-to-order omlettes. The rooms themselves were perfectly fine - a few things were a bit worn around the edges but everything was clean and worked. Only down-side was the mattress was a bit sagging and the towels could have been replaced as they were showing their age. Everything was clean, however. We did not get a chance to use the indoor pool as it was being cleaned when we had some free time. Others seemed to be enjoying it and the area around the pool with tables was a nice touch - some adults were playing board games etc. while their kids enjoyed the pool. This is a good hotel for families or couples. We would definitely stay here again when in Charlottesville.

Booked this hotel via Priceline for $45. It was a three-star hotel on Priceline. Arrived and was told they regularly assign non-direct bookings to their second floor--the smoking floor. Polite and persistent requests to move to a non-smoking section got nowhere. As soon as the elevator doors opened on the second floor we were greeted with a huge blast of horrible smoke smell. One night was all we could take and everything we had in the roomed reeked of smoke and had to be washed immediately.

We paid 91$(Hotwire) for a 6/20/09 stay, 2 double beds, room 322.......
Both mattresses needed replacement, burns in carpet, sink handle came off in hand, poor water pressure, A/C can only be adjusted to 68 degrees, yet there are down comforters on the beds when its 92 outside in June. Not worth the $160 price they were asking. Not a very good nights sleep. We had relatives in another room (614) and their room was extremely hot. The A/C was barely working.
