We recently stayed at this hotel for 1 night over the weekend. It was nice as decribed by many others on here. I do not dare stay anywhere unless I check the tripadvisor reviews first.

The bed was comfortable- Just as comfortable as other very expensive hotels that I have stayed at before. There was a nice sitting area in the King room. The hotel was quiet. I did not hear any noise from other guests. It was clean and the staff was friendly.

I stay at Hampton Inns often if I want to stay somewhere for a bargain price as I can usually expect a comfortable bed and clean room.

The breakfast wasnt that great but its included anyway. It was what I expected. The staff was friendly and accomodating. The hotel didnt disappoint. It was not a far drove to the historic downtown and was located on a shopping strip where there were a few chain restaraunts nearby (Chilis, Red Lobster etc.) I do suggest driving into town to sample some of the outstanding restaraunts around Charlottesville. Would stay here again...great value.

We stayed here for one night and found the property slightly disappointing compared to other Hampton Inns we've stayed at.

Recent reviews indicate that a process of refurbishment is under way but the room we stayed in during our September visit was looking a little tired. The overall standard of cleanliness was not as good as other Hamptons we've stayed at - in particular there were some rather disturbing handmarks on the headboard - and satin varnished wooden surfaces rarely tend to look pristine.

That said, everything else about the stay was OK.

We've been staying at this hotel for years whenever we come to town, mostly for football games. We tried several others, but this one is the best overall, particularly after it was completely renovated a few years ago. On top of that, they renovated the rooms again this past year, and they are great. Very nice, very convenient, very friendly. Free wi-fi works perfectly. Hot coffee fresh and available all the time. The breakfast is pretty good. Not fantastic, but you won't find yourself absolutely needing to go elsewhere (though you shouldn't miss The Tavern for breakfast).

The only downside, and its a big one, is that they raised their prices considerably, at least for football weekends, a couple years ago. So we now stay there a lot less (we used to get two rooms for two nights each for every game, now we get one room for one night for 1 or 2 games). But its still the first place I check for availability if we'll be in town.

My wife and I usually try to stay at Hampton Inns, but the Hampton Inn Charlottesville was by far the best one we have ever stayed in! The entire staff was incredibly friendly and concerned about providing outstanding service.

The room was clean, very comfortable and very nicely decorated/appointed.

The breakfast bar and food selections were great from presentation to freshness and level of service from those working the area.

Can not recommend this particular hotel enough.

My wife and I stayed here earlier this month. We booked a non-smoking room with king bed. Check - in was effortless, the desk clerk was very friendly. The room was very clean though the bathroom seemed a little smaller then usual.

The hotel is conveniently located, a short ride to the university and historic sites. There are a few restaurants within walking distance.

We were very satisfied with our room and would definitely return.
