“Very comfortable, great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

We picked the Omni because of its location, right in downtown Charlottesville and it proved the right division; it was a great place to stay. The rooms were clean, modern and the staff polite. I couldn't fault anything, but it was really quite expensive and fundamentally a business type hotel and didn't have the old town comfortable feel you might get elsewhere.

I stayed at the Omni when I was doing the Charlottesville marathon and paid a bit more for a hotel close to the start line (with a 6.30 am start I didn't want to get up any earlier than I had to!) What I didn't realise until the end of the marathon was how much I would also appreciate the proximity to the finish line! It was a tough race so it was great to just be able to walk (very slowly) back to the hotel for a long bath and a nap in the comfortable, king-sized bed. The hotel is very well situated close to a lot of good restaurants so I didn't have to walk far in the evening to eat either. The best thing about the hotel though was the friendliness of the staff. We really felt as if they couldn't do enough for us. When the man at the front desk found out I was doing the marathon he asked if I wanted some bottles of water sent up to the room. There was free coffee downstairs every morning and a small shop which did Starbucks tea with fresh milk (and when that was closed you could get the same drinks from the restaurant). The hotel was a little pricy because of the marathon but it was worth every penny.

Really nothing special. Typical of so many business hotels in the US. Clean and general amenities in the room. Bathroom very small. Breakfast buffet pretty much like everywhere else: not bad, not great....average. Location is pretty good at one end of the Main Street mall. Front desk staff was friendlier than usual for this sort of place. Not a lot of hotel choices in Charlottesville. Would probably stay again, but uninspiring.

Great location on the pedestrian mall in downtown Charlottesville. We were here to look at UVA and this was about 1.5 miles away. The hotel ran us up to the school by van and we were able to take a free trolley back down to the hotel. The entire thing was very easy to navigate with just a little information from the terrific hotel staff.

In addition the mall, this is located near several good restaurants on Charlottesville's Main Street, all easy to walk to even at night.

The rooms were clean, the beds and sheets were just average and the room we had facing the atrium was a little weird feeling. I've definitely stayed in better hotels. However the two amazing things about this hotel were 1) the staff were attentive, friendly and helpful, and 2) the breakfast was well above average for this level of hotel--it had gluten free options, local baked goods and even soy milk--it was well planned and thoughtful to cover their guest's needs. All in all, I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that has windows facing a "real" outside, not into the atrium.

Super location in downtown Charlottesville at one end of the main street mall.
Attended company meeting there. Excellent meeting spaces and group dining areas.
Rooms well appointed to Omni standards. Have stayed there 8-10 times and always found the facility and staff to provide an enjoyable experience.

Room Tip: Recommend rooms facing away from lobby atrium for quiet and views of town.

the omni is the only option if you want to be on cville's downtown mall, which is a great spot. parking is available, which is a big plus. the atrium is quite pretty. the rooms are a bit small, but pretty well kept. not at all a bad choice if what you want is a good place to sleep, but i wouldn't expect you'd want to spend a rainy day in the hotel or anything like that- nothing doing there.

This Omni is a wonderful place to stay if you're in Charlottesville. The hotel has clean and serene rooms with a staff that goes out of the way to accommodate the guests. It is also pet friendly. The location is excellent right in downtown Charlottesville within walking distance of shops, art galleries, and restaurants,

Room Tip: Either a King or the two double bed rooms are very comfortable
