The bar area was hopping (it was March 16th and St. Patrick's Day Weekend). Very loud and smoky. The hostess stand is located in the bar area so you have to go through the bar area to be seated in the dining room. Good news -- you can't hear the bar noise in the restaurant. It was busier this Saturday compared to the last time we visited. The restaurant got about 2/3 full at it busiest (still not good for a Saturday night). Service started at very prompt with drink and food orders. We forgot to request the bread (it is wonderful but you must request it or they don't bring it). The onion soup I ordered had lots of cheese on it but no piece of bread at the bottom (as most do) and very few pieces of onion in it. My Caesar Salad was good. My companions liked the fish and chips (on special) and the veggie wrap (huge portion). After our food came our waiter lost interest in us. Had to ask for a water refill and we didn't see him again til he brought our check. Didn't ask if we wanted coffee or dessert. We ended up sitting there and visiting and was never once checked on again (perhaps we changed our mind for coffee or dessert). Ended up going to Milwaukee Custard in the same area for dessert. Just don't understand why the service is so inconsistent. They have good food though!
