So many aircraft to see... so little time. Bring your walking shoes & sense of awe! I went both before the shuttle & after the shuttle came to rest there - it was just amazing to be able to stand close enough to touch the craft that had flown so many missions. I could go back again & again.
We love this place, it's always first on our list to take visitors and they are all "gob-smacked" - everything in here is just jaw dropping. They have wonderful events too, such as Halloween with everyone in costume the children love thins like storm ship troopers wondering around along with R2D2, games, crafts etc. Not forgetting the IMAX theatre - don't miss this place!
If you're a fan of aviation, this is a place you don't want to miss. Plan to spend at least 2 hours, more likely 3. One of the very few Space Shuttles (Discovery), a Concorde supersonic airliner, many one-of-a-kind WW2 aircraft, and much, much more are on display. What did I like? Everything. What did I dislike? Nothing.
This would be a very good museum if you did not have to pay so much for parking, outrageous. I understand they don't want the airport crowd to park there but it is far enough from the airport to avoid that. $6 would be more reasonable.
This is one of those places in the Washington area that is a must-see and worth time it takes to drive out to see it. The collection is amazing.
