“Must Visit for Every Space and Air Enthusiast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2012

After visiting the National Air and Space Museum in DC, I want to get more on this visit, and decided to visit this museum, and wasnt let down one bit, i would categorise the National Air and Space Museum in DC as the appetizer and the Steven F. Udvar Hazy Center as the main-course!!!
Entry is free, but charge for the car when you enter the location. the first site of the entire museum is the Blackbird, and a large display of various small and large aircrafts, and just behind the Blackbird is the James S. McDonnell Space Hangar which has the Space shuttle Discovery and other space exhibits...
One will also find one of the Air France Concorde's...also has an IMAX theatres for numerous shows...again the let down was the McDonald's as your only eating option, being a person who avoids fast food or Chain joints while travelling this was a let down...ELSE this is a must visit for every space and aviation fan...if you are travelling with young adults, do try the simulators...

“No place like it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012

Tremendous display of many large planes, many military but lots of civilian too and one of the Space Shuttles. Don't miss if this is something that interests you.

“The plane boss, the plane!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2012

This is paradise island for aviation and space geeks. Lots of whole big planes in two hangars - Space Shuttle, Blackbird, SST. IMAX and control tower.

“Worth the drive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2012

This is worth the drive, but try to carpool and plan to spend the day since parking is $$$. The good news is there is plenty to see and there are movies available, too.

“Once in a Lifetime Experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2012

Standing in front of Enola Gay, the plane that dropped the first atomic bomb, and listening to the hair rising commentary as to how it went down or literally standing next to the shuttle Discovery or actually looking at the Wright Brothers’ Glider where it all began and it gets better when your two little ones standing next to you and in absolutely awe. Well not really but until they see the plane with the shark face and the chajkis at the souvenir store.

My ones actually got excited when they saw Amelia Earhart’s uniform and pictures and they related with the Night at the Museum movie. That’s when the adventure started. Then we hopped around space rides and exhibits and finally to the Tower. We’re able to see the fastest plane Lockheed Black Bird which looked like a smaller version of the Stealth Fighter. We’ve also had the opportunity to see Concorde and many other exhibits. Souvenir store was good, it was a very good and well maintained place to visit. We’ve enjoyed it, loved it, it reminded us of what a Great Country we live in, and we will cherish it for a long time to come. We hope you and yours do the same.
