“Super service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2009

We stayed here for one evening so that we could get to a very early flight out of Dulles Airport in the morning. This Fairfield Inn is not near enough to any restaurant to walk. There are several very busy roads that lead out of the parking lot to the other street where a few restaurants are located. When I asked the shuttle driver if they took their guests to a restaurant they said they did not. However, pizza can be ordered and it will be delivered.
We needed to be on the shuttle for an early flight, so we signed up for the time we needed to leave and they were right on time and ready in the morning.
The dining area was very large and had goodies, such as hot chocolate, tea, coffee and fruit available during the evening. We had picked up a meal for the evening earlier and reheated it in the microwave in the breakfast area and ate it in there . Breakfast was good with cereals, eggs and assorted toast, bagels, sweet rolls and was ready for those of use that were leaving early.
There was no hot tub in the swimming pool room when we were there, but there was a lifeguard in there, even though my husband was with me while I was swimming.
The room, as you can see in the pictures was very attractive, and the sink was outside the room which is always a nice feature.
Their social area was beautifully decorated - plenty of space for socializing and visiting.
I definitely would recommend this place as a good place to stay for an airport departure.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful the staff at this Inn was. They offer homebaked cookies and complimentary hot chocolate and coffee in the lobby when you are checkin in. They would at a moment's notice gear up the complimentary shuttle, offer to take you down the street to the area around CVS if the need arises (which almost happened in my case ) and pick up and return you to Dulles Airport. One morning happened to be the season's biggest snowstorm, and the man who was supposed to drive the shuttle was almost 30 minutes away, so the man at the front desk found someone to cover the desk while he personally drove the shuttle. On our return trip to the airport I left my cell phone in the shuttle. I called the Inn and they are shipping it back to me. I cannot say enough about how gracious the staff is; I have never stayed at a more helpful hotel!

We always see to it that we have a Marriott in our trip! If you have a car, like we had, it's the best hotel for the price. If you want to stay in Washington DC itself, there will be cheaper (or as cheap) hotels, but not so clean and safe. We went by car to the subway in West Falls Church, parked the car for $10.00 and travelled to Washington DC for $5.00. Marriott is an excellent hotel. A small pool, but certainly great after a long warm day in the city. Breakfast is good also.

Looking at the other reviews, I don't think the value at this hotel is a secret. The staff was great, gave me a little me upgrade and took the time to ask a few questions about my travel preferences (for future visits). The rooms were updated and VERY clean. Walking distance to either Longhorns, Damons and Bob Evans completed a very easy night/morning. I'll be back.

thank heavens for tripadvisor - we rely heavily on everyone's contribution to it! my husband relied on the postings here and selected the fairfield at chantilly - great choice. we were greeted with a very friendly and professional front desk person (she even charmed the ornery old grandmother who was with us, by offering her a warm chocolate chip cookie that were available for the guests). nice new decoration, fun designs, and CLEAN. good value for the price. although it is true that is is close to the airport, it did not at all affect our ability to sleep. beds were solid and slept great. will absolutely return here. they are running a good business. no complaints. decent breakfast. renovations are not complete but they are doing a good job working around it.

  • Liked — it was clean; fun new room decorations, furniture (esp. for a chain hotel)

We stayed here on a Saturday night to Monday morning. It is a very clean, newly decorated hotel. Planes will fly right over your head, but they quit by 10 and don't start up til 6 the next morning so noise was not a factor. We were on the third floor so I was a little worried about this, but even during the day we could not hear the planes that much.

Upon check in we were accidentilly given a room with a king bed for 3 people even though we requested 2 beds, they upgraded us to a suite at no extra cost. ($69 per night for a suite, not too bad)

The shuttle service is great. They took us to the new air museum Udvar-Hazy and picked us up in no time at all. They also offered to take us to the metro so we could go into DC, but we declined.

The front desk was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was above average with hot waffles and other assorted items. It was very crowded on Sunday morning, so be prepared to wait to get your food.

The only drawback is the time the pool is open. It closed at 9 on Saturday and at 8 on Sunday. Our son did not get to enjoy it. There is a person there to get you out, so no lingering.

We have stayed in the DC area several times and this is one of the nicest places we have stayed without having to pay a fortune or worry about a place to park.

We stayed 2 nights at the Fairfield Inn near Dulles Airport (June 12 & 13). Check-in was quick and efficient, not to mention surprising as I was informed of "Elite Member" status and given a small welcome gift. The elevator was a bit tight, but it was fast. Our room was on the second floor. When we opened the door, we were quite impressed with the refreshing contemporary decor. "This place is fancy!", according to our youngest son. The crisp, white linens and bright orange and green colors of the room made the room feel fresh. The beds were very comfortable. The shower worked fine. We walked to two local restaurants during our stay, which was convenient. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub both nights.

The front desk staff were helpful and eager to please. The cookies in the evening were such a nice treat. We are not coffee drinkers, but we did enjoy the hot chocolate option available. Several people seemed to take advantage of the coffee bar.

The breakfast selection was certainly above what we normally see at hotel breakfast offerings. There were many choices available. The biscuit sandwiches were a big hit, as well as the waffles. It was very crowded on Saturday morning, but the staff worked hard to keep the items stocked, despite rude and unreasonably greedy guests.

The location was very convenient to the Udvar-Hazy Center, which we enjoyed on Friday. Northern VA is a very busy, congested area, but this Fairfield Inn provided a quiet, comfortable place for us to relax during our visit. We would stay there again, especially given the fantastic rate we had.
