Great place to visit! Easy to get to and parking is plentiful! Attended as a holiday company party and it was such a unique venue. Definitely recommend for history buffs.

“Air and Space Museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

The parking is a little steep ($15), but the museum was nice for an hour or two. There is a McDonalds there for a quick snack. The best part was the observation tower with a beautiful view and being able to listen to the air traffic controllers from Dulles while watching for the planes with whom they are communicating. The space shuttle Discovery was also a favorite of ours!

“Spacious (get it???)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

Really, this is a great place for everyone. If you want to hit the highlights you can go directly to them. If you want to spend time and learn about any item in great detail, the information is there. Everything is spread out so you can get around easily. There are flight simulators, McD Cafe and a gift shop. Very clean, too. A must see!

“Awesome for aviation people”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013

This museum is just outstanding to me. The layout is such that you walk around 3 or 4 times and still find stuff you missed. The collection is mind boggling, so many different era aircraft and of course the space shuttle Discovery. The space shuttle is by far the biggest draw and looks like it just came back from a mission. The collection also has a stealth fighter, Enola Gay that bombed Hiroshima, Air France Concord, German warbirds, Helicopters, American jet fighters, as well as small exhibits machine guns, engines.
This were the large items are located not in Washington DC. There is also a elevated walkway on the sides to get a different look at the planes. No planes are open the public though. Also is a Imax theater and a tower to watch the real airport next door.

Very family friendly museum. Great exhibits. I love taking my children to this museum. Note: museum is free, but you must pay for parking.
