“Watching movies in IMAX”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012 via mobile

I watch all good movies in IMAX. The screen and sound are amazing. The actual museum, I've been there 10 times and enjoyed each and every visit.

“Great museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012

A lot of history here - and kids love it. Modern and roomy - guides are very knowledgeable. I like it better than Air and Space downtown.

“Like the 'promised land' for aviation enthusiasts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012

What a great place. If you're love aviation this is a must see if you're in the area. Its a bit of a drive from D.C. unfortunately, and there's really no public transportation to get there.

The $15 parking fee is somewhat annoying - but the rest of the museum is technically free, though there are some additional things they charge for.

For me, just see Discovery was worth the trip. But there are quite a few legendary aircraft to be seen. One let-down is that you really cannot go into any of them. Not even the Concorde which is too bad, but probably understandable.

Even some in our group who were not mildly interested in going here found it 'mildly entertaining' to visit.

“Amazing, Historic, A Must See”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012 via mobile

Fantastic experience. Amazing displays. See many items you seen in history books, on TV, etc. Includes the Space Shuttle Discovery, the Enola Gay, Space Suits used during moon walks, rockets, early German jets...the list goes on and on. Much more up-to-date than the one on the mall. Only recommendation is to eat before you go. Only option is a really awful McDonalds that will give you an upset stomach if you eat there.

“A great visit - but too much to see in one day.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012 via mobile

Wow. It is really nice to see the aircraft up close that I grew up with. Only fee is the $15 for parking. Do suggest getting there early to see as much as you can. Get IMAX tickets as you arrive - any show is worth while. We saw one on the Hubble telescope. Another suggestion is to pace tour to get lunch (McDonalds) before movie. It was way too crowded after movie - so we drove to place near by.
