“Arts in the Park”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Arts in the Park on Saturday mornings in the summer are GREAT!!! My three year old loves the events. We come for the Arts but stay for the nature. The show takes maybe an hour, then we need to spend another hour or more looking at all the nature. Turtles in a pool, snakes in the visitor center. What's not to love for a three-year old boy?

“Great for geocaching”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2011

I love this little park. Discovered it just last year while geocaching and never realized how nice it was - lived here for 15 years. Great trails, nice for a day out to discover nature. And of course there are several caches to find if that is your thing.

“A fun place for young kids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2010

The Walney visitor center has a few hands-on nature exhbitis, a gift shop, and a few live animals (turtles, snakes, etc.) In the surrounding Elleanor C. Lawrence park, you'll find hiking trails, a creek, and a pond. There's an old smokehouse and the ruins of an ice house, beehives, and a butterfly garden as well. The nature center is smaller and less impressive than Hidden Oaks, but the park as a whole has more to offer.
