“Convenient, reliable mid-range hotel--good for business trips to the area”

The Hampton Inn Dulles Airport South is my hotel of choice whenever I am in the Chantilly/Dulles area--which is fairly often. The hotel is clean, housekeeping is reliably thorough, front desk (indeed, all) staff are helpful and pleasant, I can trust the shuttle to get me to/from the airport with minimal hassle, breakfast is good (not fabulous, but good), parking close to the door is usually available, and the rooms are adequately and comfortably furnished. When I travel alone, I feel safe everywhere in the hotel and parking areas. Interesting (non-chain) restaurants are a short drive (or a delivery phone call!) away. It's a great place to stay for business, with free Internet service with no hassle. I also like the fact that they offer smoking rooms, and don't force me to loiter on the sidewalk outside for the occasional cigarette. I'll be back.

We appreciate you taking the time to write a review of our hotel! We value and appreciate all guest feedback as it is the best opportunity we have to get honest opinions of how we are preforming from the guests perspective.

We are really glad to hear that you have had such consistently positive experiences while you have stayed with us. It is good to hear that all of the most important parts of your stay are taken care of well! There are plenty of restaurant options in the area and we try to provide the best breakfast possible so that our guests don't have to worry about where they are eating. We keep our rooms well furnished and in this day and age the importance of internet is unparalleled so we know a hassle free reliable connection is very important. Of course we still provide our guests with the option to stay in a smoking room because loitering on the sidewalk is not only dangerous but it is boring as well and in the winter can be very very uncomfortable.

We hope to see you soon for your next trip to the area!

I have been staying at this hotel for the last three months on business. During this time the front desk staff has always been very helpful and accomodating. There is a workout room with two treadmills, a stairclimber, and an exercise bike that have been very convenient when I haven't wanted to spend the time to go to a gym. Also, there is a 1.5 mile trail just across highway 50 that has been convenient for when I want to go on a run outside. Most of all, the beds are very comfortable, which in my opinion is the most important thing when sleeping in a bed away from home to get a good night's sleep.

It is also good to hear that you have been so comfortable sleeping in our beds too. We also feel that getting a good night's rest is very important. Having a super comfortable bed while you are away from home is extra important because it makes it that much easier to get some rest!

I work at IAD and stayed here due to the snowstorms that socked the airport the last week or so. The hotel is very convenient to IAD, about a ten minute drive to the terminal. It sits off of Highway 50 which if you go east from the hotel has a lot of choices for restaurants and also a Super Target and Costco. The hotel could use an update quite honestly. The TV's are old, the furnishings, etc. need some TLC. The small things do count and my coffee maker didn't work, the phone had the wrong room number on it, the toilet rolls were almost done on arrival. The swimming pool was nice and warm but the sauna was empty??? Not big things but they do add up. Given the amount of decent hotel brands in the area, I don't think I will return.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. We take our guests feedback very seriously and we are concerned to hear that you didn’t have the best stay at our hotel.

We are in the beginning stages of replacing all of the TV’s at our hotel and they should all be upgraded to flat panel HD sets in the near future. We are also in the process of updating all of the furnishings in the hotel to give it a new and fresh feel.

Thank you for bringing to our attention regarding the wrong # on your phone. We will definitely correct this issue and make sure that all of the others are correct as well.

We stayed for one night at this Hampton Inn after getting into Dulles very late at night.

The hotel's brick exterior is modern and is different looking than the normal tan stucco exterior you find at most Hampton Inns. This Hampton Inn is over seven stories tall and is a larger than a normal Hampton Inn. Parking is ample and free. The hotel is about a ten minute drive from Dulles with no traffic. There is an airport shuttle from the hotel to the airport.

If you are not familiar with the area, and picking up a rental car, I would make sure you get directions ahead of time from the rental car lot to the hotel. This area can be a confusing jumble of freeways and it is not always obvious which way to go.

Our room was newly remodeled and the interior was attractive. The bed was very comfortable and even though we were relatively close to the airport, we did not have any sound probelms from the planes. We also liked the separate sink and vanity area outside of the bathroom, so one person could use the bathroom and another could use the sink at the same time.

There is a free breakfast and has the typical Hampton Inn breakfast fare.

The closest attractions to the hotel are the Viriginia branch of the Air and Space Museum or the Bull Run battlefield. If you are interested in going to DC, you will have over a half hour drive with no traffic but expect a much longer drive if going during rush hour. Also, being this far out in Virginia, you are not close to any Metro stations.

My daughters softball team stayed here when we traveled from upstate New York to compete in the softball nationals. The room had a kitchenette with sink,micro-wave and refrigerator, VERY comfortable king-size comfort-top bed, flat-screen TV, and sofa-bed, full closet, vanity and separate bath/shower. It also had an amazing continental breakfast! Lots of restaurants and shopping in the area.

Booked the "Park, Stay, and Go" package through the hotel website. Price worked out to be cheaper than parking for a week at IAD. The shuttle leaves for the airport on the hour. Even though it is very close to IAD, you should note that the drive time in NOVA/DC traffic is still 30+ minutes in peak traffic periods.

The hotel itself is by far one of the nicer Hampton Inns I have stayed in. The room was very nicely decorated and spotless. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful as was the shuttle driver.

Would absolutely consider it again if I am flying out of IAD.
