“Small Museum with Lots of History”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

This small museum is devoted to the Stuart - Mosby cavalry in the Civil War. It has a lot of artifacts in a small space in historic Centreville, Virginia. Unfortunately, it is poorly marked and difficult to find, even though it is a stone's throw from I-66. Program 13938 Braddock Road, Centreville, VA, in your GPS and enjoy the trip.

“Small but good museum”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

A little hard to find, get out your GPS, and hours are limited. Volunteer staff very knowledgeable and talkative. If you are a Jeb Stuart or Mosby fan make an effort to get here. Lots of artifacts jammed into a small room.

“Quaint Civil War Museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013

I've been living in Centreville for about 4 years and didn't even know this place existed until about two weeks ago when I saw it while out on a walk. The museum is small, but it's in a historical building. There are a few display cases with artifacts relating to cavalry in the Civil War. There have guns, belts, bullets and the like. They also have a lot of artwork. The museum is small (only one room), so you can make it through in about 30 minutes. Where this place shines is the staff of volunteers who are very knowledgeable about local history. I learned a lot about the old houses I've been driving by for years.

If you want to see a ton of artifacts and get a bigger picture of Civil War history, you're probably better heading down the road to Manassas, but if you want some local history, this place is good.
