I can't believe how much we paid for this hotel. The room was dirty, especially behind the beds, dresser. It reeked of cigarettes even though it was supposed to be non smoking, even the blankets had cigarette burn holes. The carpet was stained along with the walls. Breakfast consisted of watery eggs and overcooked sausage with nasty gravy and rock hard biscuits. The staff were friendly for the most part even though they didn't honor their promise of early check in. The hot water never really got hot, sad to say, and the water pressure was poor. This property needs some serious updating. I haven't seen a tv that old since I was in high school and likely due to the age, most of the channels didn't come through. Pass on this one even if you have to pay more elsewhere.

All guest concerns and feedback are taken very seriously by our employees and management staff at the hotel. We appreciate your taking the time to post your comments about your stay with us. We have high standards for cleanliness and are very sorry that your guest room was not up to par. We have shared your comments with our housekeeping staff and are reviewing our room inspection procedures with our staff. Unfortunately, guests will occasionally decline to honor the no smoking status of their rooms and we try to catch that failure and to deep clean the rooms sufficiently that non-smoking guests are not negatively impacted. We obviously failed in that endeavor in the room you occupied. Again, this relates to room inspection procedures and has been addressed with the staff. Maintenance has been alerted to your concerns with the hot water. Thank you for bringing that to our attention. On a happier note, we are very pleased to share that upgrades are in the works for the hotel, including flat screen TV's, and hope to have all in place the first part of 2014. We hope at that point, you would consider visiting us again when in Blacksburg. Thank you again for your honest feedback.

I've been staying at the Days Inn for 3 years now when I visit Va. Tech. The location is convenient, and rooms at the back of the motel have a great view of the mountains. I just stayed there and was very pleased. The best thing is the staff, who are friendly and welcoming. Jaleeza at the front desk went 'way out of her way to be helpful. The place is a bit run-down: the carpeting was somewhat stained. But everything, especially the bathroom, was very clean, and the mattress seemed new. I'll continue to stay here.

Thank you for posting a review regarding your stays at the Days Inn Blacksburg. It is so wonderful to hear such positive feedback from a guest that has stayed with us multiple times. As you noted, our hotel is convenient to Blacksburg and VT and does indeed have a wonderful view of the mountain range along the backside of the hotel. With the spacious grounds, its a nice location to stretch the legs after traveling! We especially appreciated hearing how well the staff takes care of you - "friendly, welcoming and went out of her way" are awesome descriptions to hear about our staff. Thank you again - we look forward to your continued visits with us.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Not awful, but not great. Old decor. Sufficiently clean. Could really use some updating. Stayed here so we could attend Virginia Tech game. 2 night minimum. Didn't really have much more to choose from as most hotels were either booked or much more expensive. Not sure I'd stay again.

We appreciate guest feedback and though it is difficult to hear that we are just "adequate" we value feedback so that we can improve our product and services for future guests. We do have some improvements planned during early 2014 and hope that you will consider revisiting us during the fall 2014 VT game season. We are confident you will enjoy future stays with us.

My husband is an alumni of Tech and we decided a few months ago to attend this past weekend's game (10/5). Unfortunately, all the nicer places were taken, so this is what we were left with. I was very apprehensive considering the reviews, especially since our children were traveling with us. I am happy to report that we did not encounter any bedbugs during our visit, but the carpeting was beyond filthy and stained.I don't think I actually saw any areas that were not visibily discolored. We were forced to wear our shoes in the room at all times. The bathroom floors looked like they had recently been retiled, but the shower curtain had mold growing on the back of it (yuck). We asked for extra towels (there were two towels provided for 4 total guests) and when they arrived they reeked of smoke. The breakfast is a cardiologist's nightmare...nothing healthy offered, not even a piece of fruit.

This is never the level of hotel we would stay at and I would have been fine for it to have been old, but a visably dirty room is just beyond unacceptable for $129/night in a rural area.

Stay elsewhere!

Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay. We would like to apologize that your stay did not meet your expectations. We have high standards for the cleanliness and maintenance of our rooms. Unfortunately, we seem to have really missed the mark with your stay with us. We have shared your feedback with our housekeeping staff. Our staff and management take all guest feedback very seriously and we will be reviewing our room inspection procedures to ensure that future guests to not encounter these type of concerns. We strive to ensure that our complimentary breakfast consistently meets both franchise standards and internal hotel standards in its offerings, at all times, for all guests. Most of our guests are pleased with the breakfast as noted in other reviews - we do apologize that the offerings during your stay failed to meet the standards we strive for. Thank you again for your honest feedback - it enables us to improve the experience for future guests.
