We stopped at the Veramar Vineyard for a tasting in the late afternoon. It is a really beautiful spot, overlooking a mountain ridge with lots of tables to sit by to enjoy the view with a glass ($7) or bottle ($20 - 26) of wine. Our wine host was friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. The wines were a real stand out, with a great mix of local grape varieties and more unique offerings with fun names. It is nice that they don't take themselves too seriously although the wines are seriously good. The tasting room was a beautifully renovated original barn structure. If the weather was nicer we would have lounged on the back patio for hours.
