My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our 11th anniversary via a living social deal, staying for two nights. he grounds are beautiful and the breakfasts are a delight. We arrived on a Monday afternoon and had the pleasure of wine and hors d'oeuvres. We stayed in the Churchill suite which was much bigger than the other rooms. If you decide to stay, I would definitely opt for a suite, the rooms are small. The main comment on our room is that the walls are thin, which is the nature of an old house. Due to the thin walls, we were able to hear our neighbor snore through the night. :) Another suggestion I would have would be to have hot water for tea/hot cocoa or coffee available through out the day. We had a chilly day and it would have been nice to have the option of a hot drink to warm up with. I didn't ask if it was available so it might have been.
The reason for the 4 star instead of the 5 is my complaint with their spa services. My husband and I had a couples massage. It was nice to have it in our room. At the end, the massage therapist told us that we should add gratuity to our bill, which I had no problem with giving gratuity except for the fact that on the spa's website it states that gratuity was added to the bill for our convenience. When we got home, I emailed Sara Davis, the person who coordinated the massage, to let her know of the discrepancy between what was stated on the website and what her therapist said. She replied "I apologize for the miscommunication regarding spa service gratuities. The error is on us in that a change was suppose to be made on the website changing the wording from "gratuities" to "service charge". When we ran the Living Social special we made some changes to our spa menu...this was one of them. However, it was just brought to my attention last week that the change was, in fact, not made on the website. We are in the process of rectifying this error. Because this is our error, I want to make sure you are only charged what the website stated at the time of your stay. I will be happy to reimburse you if you overpaid. Please let me know the additional amount you added to your credit charge." Anyhow, I replied with the amount we would needed credited..and as of today, I still have not been credited the overcharge back to our account, which has been about 3 weeks since I have brought it to her attention.
Other than this glitch with their spa services, our stay at the Rosemont manor was enjoyable. They supply coupons for restaurants in the area, and the area itself is nice and quiet. A nice place of relaxation from the hustle and bustle of life. The Berryville Cafe was good and we had fun touring the local wineries and walking the short distance of Bear's Den. We would certainly like to come back.

Please accept our apologies for the misunderstanding with the spa services. It appears that there has been ongoing correspondence back and forth during the 3 week period to clear up the issue, and that your account was credited the difference on the same day that the review was written. Nonetheless, we are very sorry for the confusion and are taking steps to make sure that the service fee is communicated clearly on our website and in other guest materials.
Thank you again for your review. We do hope that you will come back and see us again soon!
