“home-style fare”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013

We experienced competent and friendly service. House-made bead is fresh and delish! A guitarist/singer in the bar adds charm to the '80s country kitchen ambience. Good variety of specials and regular selections on the menu. The kitchen pushes out generous, hearty servings. If you've come looking for gourmet, or a romantic setting, you're in the wrong place. The Roadhouse offers remarkably average and home-style fare, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

“Good for families”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013 via mobile

Returned here after not visiting for a few years. Never a BAD meal, never anything spectacular either. When my son was younger we enjoyed it because kids had a choice of the menu, entrees were half price for them. This was a wonderful change from the pizza, chicken tenders, etc., offered to kids. The menu is full course, salad or soup, entree and dessert are included in the price. My husband laughs because I call it consistently mediocre. Better than a diner, but not top notch dining. Good for bargain hunters.

“Who is that Wonderfully Rude & Arrogent Hostess/Server”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013

My parents stopped in Friday evening for dinner, they asked what the vegetable choice was, huge mistake, This Dark Haired Beauty, NOT, Bolted to the Kitchen?, maybe and disappeared, she never answered/responded or otherwise acknowledged the very simple question, other than her sarcastic response that she would have to check. Check what? The organized Kitchen Chef/Staff would announce @ the daily kitchen meeting what the specials were including starch/vegetable choices if applicable as well as vegetable choice, ALL Professional Service Staff would know this, but not here! It's well known that this area has the Worst for wait staff! In the real world the incompetent, rude, ill-mannered, unknowledgeable staff would be fired for their incompetency, but not in this Valley it's a prerequisite to be ALL of the above, what a pity, Maybe this Dark Haired Beauty, Not is related to the owners, got to be. My odds say she is.

We will post OUR VIDEO Experience very soon!!

The irony of all this, after we walked out after being ignored, stared at for 34 minutes, we went to THE ANCHOR IN WILMINGTON CENTER where we had the BEST service, thank you JERRY and the BEST meal ever, We Will Never Patronize the Roadhouse Ever Again, Nor will we ever bite our tongues about how rudely we were Abused. SHAME ON YOU for allowing this to happen, the old adage that the dissatisfied customers will tell 10 people about the bad and hardly proclaim the good, we will announce to a 1000 the BAD! THE BAD and the RUDE, good Riddance!

“Best Dining Experience in Southern Vermont”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013

Upon the recommendation of the resort we were staying at , we went to The Roadhouse on a Wednesday. They offer a special menu on Wednesday night which includes 2 dinners , soup or salad, dessert, and a pitcher of sangria for $29.99 ($5.00 extra to exchange the sangria for bottle of wine). Kathy was our waitress and she did an excellent job. The selection on the special menu was varied and we settled on the tilapia as well as the seafood linguine. We selected the scallop bisque and chicken country vegetable soup, great homemade bread and butter, wonderful entrees and homemade apple crisp and carrot cake. Best dinner we had in Southern Vermont

“It was horrible food and expensive”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013 via mobile

My family was here from Ohio and we live about 40 minutes away from the roadhouse. The wait was long, waitress was the worst I ever had ,and the food where do I start to say the haddock was dry,my husband had scallops that didn't taste like scallops, and one of my daughters had shrimp with linguine which we brought with us an then threw it away. This restaurant would be a negative number in my estimation,we do eat out alot and this was terrible.
