Fine, inexpensive, safe place. Very pleasant owner eager to accomodate, comfortable breakfast area, no issues whatsoever.

The Vintage motel is a little rough around the edges but it is good value. It was clean and presentable and you can park outside your front door. There is a bath and free wi-fi. The walk into WIlmington is about a third of a mile and is not very safe at night. Good value for money overall. Try the Vermont House restaurant and Dot's for breakfast - a genuine diner.

The Vintage Motel on Route 9 near Wilmington is absolutely worth a look for inexpensive, comfy and friendly accommodations in Southern VT. The owners are the nicest people you'll ever meet and the room was very well-appointed and comfortable - talk about a great value! I would choose the Vintage over several other local properties that cost much more if only because it's such a pleasant place to stay. BTW the window shades (at least on the main floor) have been upgraded, though a hook and eye lock on the door would be welcome.

First the minuses - the room is very small & the bathroom tiny. They use a regular key - no key card & inside there is no slide bolt or other security lock so I didn't feel totally safe. The light in the hallway was out. The name "Vintage" motel is appropriate, it has a very dated look. We were on the second floor, so don't know what the rooms on the first floor at like. I would assume bigger & more modern. No ice machine. Shower was small. Now the pluses, of which there are many. The owner is a lovely woman & very accomadating. When we asked if there was an ice machine, we went & got us ice. They have a nice continental breakfast. The room has a "homey" feel to it & nicely decorated with additional features. The room is clean, they will not change the bedding, towels unless you ask. I like this, helps the enviroment. The grounds are spacious. Wilmington is more than a "walking" distance but still close. Motel is set back from the road so no road noise. Motel was quiet. They allow dogs, which could be a plus or minus depending on how you view it. Rates are very reasonable, especially during a holiday weekend. We could stay here for 2 nights for the price the other area motels were charging for one night.

Overall if you are looking for a place to crash at night, this spot is perfect. If you are planning on spending a lot on time in your room, I'd suggest going elsewhere.

Nice, clean motel. Owner was very nice. Nothing but sheer curtains on the windows which were ground level - no shades. Other guests walking by could see right in. No change of sheets or towels during 3 night stay.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2008

My wife and I stumbled on the Vintage Motel during a motorcycling trip a couple summers ago. We enjoyed its reasonable rates, its quirky charm and its spacious grounds, which include a garden, a fire pit, a children's play set, a grassy field for animal-watching and a tranquil, burbling brook. Rooms are clean and decorated with a personal touch. But the main reasons we keep coming back are Riaz and Nisa, the warm and welcoming proprietors (not to mention their friendly pug, Tigger).

The Vintage is located in walking distance of the charming village of Wilmington, and is close to Mt. Snow skiing. But it's also a wonderful option in the summertime, when there are ample opportunities for swimming, hiking and relaxing.

  • Liked — The proprietors are lovely people.
  • Disliked — Didn't love the walk into town along busy road with narrow shoulders.

Management was very courteous. Nice continental breakfast with fresh coffee. Conveniently located. Close to town and close to the ski area. Easy access from the main road.
