“Better for business travel...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2010

We chose to stay at the Fairfield Inn in Williston during our visit to Burlington. Had I known better, I would have chosen a Marriott located in Burlington. The Marriott website did not have any listed, but we saw a beautiful Courtyard by Marriott right on Lake Champlain in downtown Burlington when we were out and about. The Williston hotel was clean enough, very average. We enjoyed the free breakfast and I used the laundry facilities, which were well maintained & clean. Our room was average, which is what one would expect I suppose. The hotel was located right off the highway....and it seemed more suited for business travelers or people stopping for the night during a road trip. Not necessarily vacation travelers like us. We are "Marriott" people and I will say that this wasn't one of the better Marriott hotels we've stayed in, but it wasn't terrible. It was a good place to lay your head after a long day of fun. I just didn't like the location being so far from the action. The staff was nice and we found it to be a quiet hotel.

We've stayed at the Fairfield Inn twice and have always enjoyed the area (across the street from shopping (Walmart/Best Buy etc.) lots of family style restaurants, and proximity to Burlington shopping. The rooms are spotless, super comfortable beds, and friendly staff. The wifi worked perfectly. One complaint we do have is breakfast. No protein to speak of, only those hideous microwave breakfast sandwiches, with some donuts and bagels, not even yogurt or fruit (a couple of bananas were found). Hampton Inn's breakfast has much more variety and keeps you going for hours. One thing I must add: we brought pillows with us and forgot them. What we really wanted back was our pillow cases. When I called Kathy from Montreal she told us instantly that she would mail them to us which is exactly what she did! Thanks Kathy, you're a doll.

It's tough to be a hotel in Vermont during the winter. It's just plain dirty outside, with all of the salt and snow. The Fairfield Inn had signs of fighting the battle against winter. There was a lot of dirt and salt tracked in from the outside. In the common areas, a good carpet cleaning was in order.

The real gem of this hotel was the staff. They were extremely helpful. Other than that, it was a very basic Fairfield Inn. There was nothing to set it apart, and it's not going to "wow" anybody. If you are looking for a decent place to sleep, this is it. There is no gym (although they give you a pass to a local gym), and the outside pool is more of an afterthought. Breakfast was exactly what you would expect.

I would recommend this hotel if you are looking to visit both Burlington and attractions to the east of Burlington. It's convenient to Ben & Jerry's and Stowe, since it's 10-15 minutes east of downtown.

Stayed here on Sunday and Monday Night. Actually had reservations for 3 nights but I canceled out the last night because I had to get back to work. Booked the hotel 3 months ago and got a great rate of $64.00 per night for 3 nights through marriott.com. On Tuesday morning I told the front desk that I was checking out. No problem with them and the rate stayed the same. Everyone was very pleasant and the morning breakfast hit the spot. Just get their early. It is about 10 minutes from downtown Burlington and 20 minutes to Waterbury (the road to Stowe) Another ten minutes to the town of Stowe and another 10 - 15 minutes to the Stowe Mountain (7 miles from Stowe Center). Stowe Ski Area is pretty awesome. The area around the Fairfield Inn has many places to eat and play, within 1/4 mile is a large grocery store, Chilli's, Ponderosa, Longhorn, several other restaurants and a great movie theater with stadium seating (we saw 2 movies in 2 nights) The family and I all had a great time in Northern Vermont. Next time I will come back to this hotel with no second thoughts.

We have stayed here a couple of times now when in the Burlington area for business and plan to stay here again on future trips. There are a lot of choices for hotels in the area but the Fairfield Inn meets our needs. We don't need frills, just a clean room, a hot shower, fluffy towels and internet service. We are happy to return here again and again.

Stayed at the FI with family for a wedding in area. The toilet leaked and when it filled, it flushed. It flushed all night. When I told maintainance they said it would be fixed while I was at the wedding, but I spent a second sleepless night listening to the toilet flush. When I complained at the desk, the clerk shrugged. Worst Hotel I have ever stayed in.

We had a wonderful stay at this Fairfiel Inn. The kids enjoyed the pool and we loved the comfort, decor and proximity to shopping and dining.

Walmart and other shopping right next door as well as many restaurants i.e. Ponderosa, Chillie's, etc.

We'd definitely stay there again.
