“Great place to stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

Convenient to Dartmouth in Hanover. This property cannot be described as a "budget" hotel. It is so much nicer. Lobby/breakfast area (which is being remodeled this summer) is really nice already. Hotel is very clean, as was my room. For travelers with multiple gadgets requiring electrical outlets, this property has you in mind!

Stayed here for two nights on business. The lady checking me in was terrific. Just as nice as could be. They put me on the ground floor as requested and the room was in very good shape and extremely clean. I had no complaints at all other than value. I personally don't think any of the hotels these days are good values. I think they are all over-priced.

Room Tip: Good choice.

This moderate-sized property is shoehorned into a very small footprint surrounded by several other competing motels and is virtually invisible from the highway. Despite its 14-year age, it is very well maintained and in far better condition than most Hampton Inn properties of similar age. Check-in line moved very slowly, thanks to a pleasant but somewhat ditsy front desk clerk who didn't multitask very well. The lobby area is scheduled for a makeover, but it looked just fine to me.

The guest rooms are of two different sizes, and the larger ones are very pleasant and spacious. Upon arrival, the room temperature was 80 degrees and the AC didn't seem to function. A call to the front desk, put on long hold by the same non-multitasking clerk, finally was directed to the building engineer, who arrived promptly and tinkered with the climate control system. By next morning, the temperature was down to 75 degrees, still a bit too warm for comfortable sleeping but at least an improvement. The fan was extremely noisy, which did not contribute to the comfort level.

The wi-fi reception was weak and Internet access extremely sluggish and suitable only for E-mail. The TV offered a rather limited selection of channels compared to most other HI properties, and some of the channels disappeared during a heavy evening rain storm. There were relatively few electrical outlets available, an inconvenience for those who travel with an assortment of electronic gear requiring recharging.

The breakfast was the usual HI fare, but was more carefully prepared and served than at some other properties. The breakfast area was adequate in size for the number of potential guests, which is not always the case in older HIs. The decor was pleasant and relaxing. I would suggest that corporate postpone the unnecessary lobby upgrade and spend the money on the aging climate control systems and Internet access in the guest rooms, admittedly a much more extensive and expensive task.

No complaints, soup to nuts. Good value. Great location, easy desk staff, breakfast was good. Lived up to the reliability of this chain. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Wi-Fi worked. It was the night following the Boston Marathon bombing and people were particularly kind and good-hearted and supportive.

We stopped here with the kids on our way to a getaway in northern Vermont. It was a great location right off routes 89 and 91. Hotel was very accommodating for us with kids. No fridges in rooms, but upon request, we had one in less than 5 minutes. Great service all around. Top it all off with an awesome free breakfast to start the day off. Highly recommend staying here.

Our recent trip to Dartmouth was enhanced by our stay at the White River Junction Hampton Inn. The rooms were pristine, the staff more than congenial and the breakfast, fresh and replenished repeatedly. This will be the ONLY hotel we will book when in New Hampshire or Vermont. A+++++

We were looking for a place to stay in Hanover but there were only a couple hotels that were well over $200. So we searched White Junction and were pleased to find this Hampton. The staff was very friendly and helpful with everything. The front desk gave me an extra set of sheets for the sofa bed since I wanted to be sure the sheets were clean, and its hard to tell with sofa beds. The weather turned bad with a late spring snow and sleet storm and they told us about a traffic accident and warned about the icy roads. I even overheard the front desk manager going out of her way to make it up to another guest who had had several probelms being woken up by the staff when he had a late check out. We asked for a refrigerator and they brought us one. Conveniently located near Quechee Gorge, Woodstock, Hanover.
