“Excellent experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2014

I recently spent 4 nights in a standard room, which was spacious and very clean. I particularly like that the blanket is inside clean sheets. We had dinner at Nonna's one night. Exceptional food and service, and they tell you the price of each special when describing. Breakfast (included in stay) was great and Kathleen (server at breakfast) was extremely nice and professional. Overall, the staff could not have been more accommodating. They gave me a personalized letter when I checked in. I will definitely be going back. A short ride to Mt. Snow.

Room Tip: I thought the standard room was great because I needed two beds.

A very nice place to stay if you are here for skiing (one mile from Mt. Snow). It's family-run, so don't expect a concierge or flawless check in process. The inn is charming--wide plank floors, ceilings of different heights--but the decor really, really needs to be updated. Our room had flowery wallpaper and a painted mural in the bath area of a farm scene, something a child might like, but not an adult couple. The bath amenities were good, as were the bed linens and towels. The mattress was a bit lumpy and sloped in the middle, indicating that it has seen better days. The food was just ok. I would come back again because the price was very reasonable and the location is great. I hope they do some redecorating soon because many potential guests might be put off by the headache-inducing wallpaper and sponge-painted walls. Our interactions with the staff were very pleasant.

Room Tip: Our room faced the parking lot. Next time I would want one on the other side of the building.

Sorry to hear about the mattress- we have plans to replace some during our spring shut-down. As far as the decor- we are a New England Country Inn featuring quaint and classic country accents. Some of our rooms feature vintage Laura Ashley prints. Many of our guests- especially repeat guests- do not want us to move away from the charm we are known for. For a more sterile look, I'm afraid you will have to limit yourself to a chain hotel.

My husband and I bought a groupon. Long story short, the front office staff was rude on more than one occasion, and our room (one of their "nicest") was incredibly overpriced. We didn't end up getting any discount with our groupon. The location of the inn is convenient, but there are so many other options in that area...I wish we had done a little more research before booking.

I'm sorry to hear about this. We cannot control what happens with Groupon as they are the ones who sell the vouchers. As far as rudeness, our staff is always pleasant and I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Stayed here for two nights recently, in a room in Farmhouse building, with fireplace. It is convenient to everything in West Dover area. The place is very close to needing a serious update; it is a bit long in the tooth. Little things here and there were broken. Uncomfortable bed, broken headboard, curtains not working, baseboard heater covers falling off, lightbulbs burned out, that type of thing. Funky old buildings, with character and charm. The breakfast you get with the room is very good, except it ends at 9am, which is not so great for a Sunday morning. Front desk lady was nice. I would not really call this a full-service resort. Called ahead to see if the room had a fridge, were told that it did, but when we got there, it did not, so, that was a nuisance. Would say it is average overall, not up to the price though.

I (the general manager) personally inspected your room and aside from the baseboard cover and the bulb the room is in perfect working order. It was my error in telling you the room had a refrigerator. I made a mistake. We put one in for you anyway. The inn is old, classic and historic and we work very hard to keep things clean and updated. During the busy winter season sometimes the rooms get extra wear and we try our best to keep on top of things. As far as breakfast, during the ski season the majority of our guests prefer to eat early to get out on the slopes. Even though we stop serving around 9 breakfast always tends to run until about 10 especially when it is busy.

Thanks so much for sharing this lovely warm Inn ! Our room was great - warm, quiet & very clean.
We had a fabulous time. We met wonderful guests and ate dinner at Nonna's which was very good. Enjoyed a lovely bottle of California Cabernet (priced right too). Marco & his staff are beyond friendly & helpful. We will return very soon.

We enjoyed our 3-night stay here, starting Christmas Day. This is a warm country inn. It's bigger than a B&B so you don't have the personal touch of a B&B's owners chatting with you at breakfast, but it is welcoming nonetheless. Twelve rooms in the main building, and I presume several more in the buildings next to. There's a nice sitting area by a fireplace off the dining room of Nonna's, the in-house Italian restaurant that serves dinner. Also, a library on the second floor is another nice place to relax and take a cup of tea, cider, cocoa or coffee after skiing, or anytime. Board games and 3d tic-tac-toe are available. Nonna's dinner room is also the place for breakfast. Our server for breakfast, Karen, was friendly, attentive, and welcoming each morning. Nonna's is a fine restaurant for dinner; the food is very good, service fine, and ambience suitable for conversation. But, guests should reserve in advance if they want to dine there, especially on busy weekends; it's popular. The rooms are lovely. Our deluxe king room was large, and nicely appointed with comfy chairs, a desk, and beds with fluffy comforters. We had a wall of windows and a balcony. As for rates, we took advantage of a package that included lift tickets, at savings off even Mt. Snow's web-based price.

Great getaway from Springfield, Mass. nice property, a bit dated and worn, beautiful snowy weekend. We have always enjoyed this area of Vermont, we enjoyed breakfast, couldn't stay for brunch, though we were a bit entertained by our server yelling at the kitchen staff for not preparing what she demanded, we were in the Dining Room and heard her real clear, not real professional, which she obviously wasn't. Her voice worked well but she didn't know about espresso or how to make it, hmmn

Room Tip: Inside rooms are warmer, you don't have to leave the warmth to walk from the outside condo rooms...
