“Wonderful, Hospitable - Perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2012

My husband, young baby and I stayed in the Stable Room for our 5-year anniversary this year and we can't say enough about the fantastic service, scrumptious food and absolutely gorgeous accommodations here. Upon check-in, we were greeted with a lovely bouquet of flowers, and our luggage was quickly whisked to our room with a smile. There was a mix-up with a pre-ordered bottle of champagne, which the staff quickly corrected (and then some) with no questions asked.

The B&B is nestled on a creek across from a quaint general store and only a couple of miles away from two beautiful, charming towns with ample shopping and even a weekend farmer's market. We spent days strolling through town and sitting in the peaceful, breezy B&B yard together...the setting is absolutely gorgeous. Our room was fantastic as well and each room is unique (be sure to ask to see a few of the other rooms if they are open for viewing!).

The on-site meals were often the highlight of our days - the food here is exquisite, and we highly recommend enjoying a meal on the lovely back porch if you can. Ari, the hotel Manager, also worked with us to accommodate our young family at mealtime and even invited us to enjoy a picnic on the lawn one afternoon, and a dinner in our room in front of the fireplace with our own waiter to facilitate one evening.

We will definitely be back - in fact, we can't wait to return. Thank you, Pitcher Inn staff!

I have stayed here twice recently. I think the place is lovely-don't get me wrong. BUT it needs a refurbishment. It was rebuilt after a fire in the early 90's and I bet nothing has been done since. Many of the rooms seem dated and a little dingy. The rooms aren't dirty--simply a tad beat up. There is no reason for a wholesale overhaul, but rather a nip and tuck. The food and wine side of things are both excellent--the room side seems expensive and in need of sprucing up. It is not up to the standards of other Relais and Chateau properties.

Room Tip: Try to stay as far way from the restaurant as possible-it can get loud.

We stayed at the Pitcher Inn last week, and it was magical. The rooms, service, location, and food were all amazing. We looking for a romantic getaway and a staging location to visit around the (gorgeous) area, and we found it at the Pitcher.

A 5 star inn, in small town Vermont. The staff is absolutely amazing in their eye for detail, it seems they anticipate your needs before you do! They are one step ahead of you with a warm, friendly smile. I felt so comfortable I'd like to move in! Ari is a gem, from his sense of humor, warm gracious voice & knowledge of what you want to do, to his love of his job. The restaurant is excellent, the service impeccable. The Warren Store across the street was impressive. The selection of clothing upstairs was a pleasant surprise. Trendy, known Brands and unknown ones. There seemed to be an endless supply of cute, different clothing for all types of taste. The overall stay was wonderful. Can't wait to go back!

The welcome by the GM was amazing, followed by high tea, cocktails and an amazing dinner. Can't say enough about the place. They even made a fire in our room on request. I have never felt more like royalty! A real treat for all !

We just visited the pitcher inn again, and luckily they have made a full recovery from the flooding from Irene. The service remains excellent and they don't miss any of the details. Sadly my wife slipped on the ice at one of the ski areas and broke her wrist, but they were always there with plenty of ice and even sent flowers to the room!

We both still think that Sue is one of the best chefs in the country, and the breakfasts are outstanding and inventive! The Tracks bar downstairs is also a great place for a casual meal if you want some lighter fare.

Again, many thanks to Ari and his staff for doing such an excellent job running the inn!

We spent two restful evenings at this gracious inn. The staff is warm and welcoming. We stayed in the Colonial which was perfect with the wood burning fireplace and heated floors in the spacious bathroom. Everything was top notch! We really enjoyed the Nespresso machine with morning muffins/scones upstairs, before we proceeded downstairs for a fantastic breakfast. Our dinners in the beautiful dining room in front of the huge fireplace were fantastic with a focus regional cuisine. The wine list is great and very fairly priced. Ari and his team were first class. We had fresh snow on our last morning, which they promptly removed from our cars prior to our departure. It was all of the small touches that make us want to return!

Room Tip: The website is very helpful as is the front desk.
