“Still Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

I used to own The Pitcher Inn but now my ex-wife does and we are not on the best of terms. However, under her ownership and the great team that is still there, the dining experience is exceptional. Chef Sue has been there since Day one and she continues to create a delicious cuisine. Ari, the General Manager, has a very service oriented team and makes everyone feel welcome. Eat upstairs for a more elegant atmosphere or downstairs in Tracks for a more casual evening.

“Excellent Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2014

After hearing rave reviews about The Pitcher Inn for years, I finally decided to give it a try with my dad. We were not disappointed at all. Everything was excellent. Our waiter (Mason) made us feel right at home as if we had been there dozens of times before. He was top notch and possibly one of the best waiters I ever had. He was attentive, informative, and extremely personable.

The food was delicious as well. The presentation of each dish looked like something you would see in a magazine. Everything was cooked perfectly and had a lot of creativity and flavor. I did not leave a crumb of any dish.

The wine list is nothing short of impressive. There's a good representation of wines from all the major regions. There's also a wide range of price points available. The Burgundy (both red and white) selections seemed exceptionally strong with quite a few choices. Ari (the sommelier and manager) helped us choose an excellent bottle of red Burgundy (2003 Meo-Camuzet Marsannay) that was showing really well and that went great with the food we had chosen. The attention to detail was amazing. Before Ari even made it to our table he had already found out what we had ordered. This may seem minor and may be something that a sommelier should always do, but unfortunately it doesn't always happen. Ari is obviously very passionate about his job and takes it very seriously. He knows his wines and also has a great personality.

Overall we could not have asked for a better experience and will be back. While it is certainly not cheap, it was still worth every penny for this level of service and quality of food.

“Wonderful service”

We arrived to a very warm welcome - so appreciated after several hours in a car. Mason offered amazing service and excellent wine recommendations. Dinner was excellent and the dining room is refined yet comfortable. We look forward to returning.

“What a find!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2014

While at a ski vacation at Sugarbush, Vermont we ventured away from the resort to the Pitcher Inn which had been recommended to us by a friend. What an adventure. The Inn is beautiful and well maintained. The dining room is well appointed, and the tables are far enough apart so that you cannot hear other conversations. An extensive and varied wine list, so much so that I couldn't make a selection. The waitress called over the Inn's manager, Ari, who also runs the cellar. We gave him our budget and identified the dishes we were planning to order. He told us to "trust him". Considering that some bottles on the list exceed $1,000.00 the trust was important. He brought us a beautiful Italian wine, decanted it and poured. It was delicious…and priced at the very bottom of our budget. Easy to pick a great expensive wine, more difficult to pick a less expensive wine.
The menu changes weekly. I had a Kale salad that was amazing. A t-bone pork chop as a main course. Everyone's meal was delicious, well prepared and more than we expected. I recommend also the short rib ravioli. And don't miss the deserts.

By the end of the meal we reserved a suite and dinner for Thanksgiving!! A top rate experience.

“Great food and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2014

Many people, as we had done, overlook this dining opportunity thinking it is too formal for a night out while having a ski weekend. Big mistake! The atmosphere is more formal than the rest of the Valley's choices, no doubt, but the freindliness of the staff makes you feel right at home. The service is just plan excellent in addition to the staff making the experience very relaxing. Now to the food, there is nothing ordinary about the wonderful tastes, presentations and choices. No where in the Valley, or up to Stowe or down to Killngton are you going to experience the excellence of the cuisine offered here. Do not pass up the chance to dine here, you will be pleased.
