“Reasonably priced lunch at the base of Sugarbush”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2012

The menu was short, but our selections were very good and not over-priced, as can happen at ski areas. There were a lot of families having lunch but it wasn't overly noisy or crowded; just a fun place to stop and have a good lunch with good service.

“Forget the cafeteria... treat yourself!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2012

As even my Sophomore Champlain College daughter dutifully noted... "Dad, the prices here are only a dollar or two more than
the cafeteria"???!!! Skip the Cafe... treat yourself. Gorgeous interior. Tasty soups, sandwiches, meals... and oh yes- this was lunch by the way. The stunning craft-beer "Switchback" on tap, absolutely delicious! Upscale Alpine, relaxing, good service, splendid bar... get a window seat to people watch...
Remember, skip the cafe... I'm worth a visit to Timbers!

“Ok food... friendly bar”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2012

I love the service at Timbers: everybody is very friendly. Food is limited.. I would describe as upgraded cafeteria food. However.. if you are skiing and want to have a quiet lunch at Lincoln Peak: this is definitely your choice. The price is about the same as the other choices in the mountain but the setup is a LOT better. The bar is nice place for a beer. I enjoy visiting the place in the evenings. It lacks a little atmosphere... Have a beer after skiing here, have lunch on a cold day in February or outside in March. So.. this review is mixed... I guess my only complain is the food. Rest is very good.

“Unwelcomed dinner guests (flies!)”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2012

Hate to give a bad review based on one bad experience. The food was probably ok, but I don't even remember what I ate b/c the flops I experienced here.

Flop 1 - ordered a glass of wine, then had to ask for another
glass b/c of old lipstick stains on the glass. Hope they poured new wine too...

Flop 2 - an enormous horse fly wandered onto our table and would not leave. Our waiter took care of our unwelcomed guest, and mentioned that they are commonly found in the area and are very slow and non-reactive to swatting hands. Glad that he knew how to handle tastefully get rid of our fly-guest... but still..eww, I'd still ilke to think flies are not normal everyday occurances in a nice restaurant

Flop 3 - the place was nearly empty but our food took forever/service was slow. Also, yes, VT is a cold place, but there was hardly any heat running and so, instead of dessert, opted to get toasty by the fireplace.

The place itself is beautiful and clean otherwise. All around windows that look like they open up to a patio on warmer days. Definetly would feel comfortable going back here... probably for a beer (non-draft) or something where I don't have to examine for clean glasses!

“Good restaurant, shame about the service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2012

Good food, but we waited over half an hour to be served for a drink and when the food eventually appeared it was cold - a shame as it tasted great - maybe we just picked a bad day.
