We just returned home after spending 3 days and nights at the Inn, celebrating Columbus Day weekend/ fall foliage. I have spent many nights in the mad River Valley, both during ski season as well as the other three seasons. This is the best! The Inn is just off the beaten path (meaning no traffic from busy roads) but a short walk to downtown historic Waitsfield. In very short order Mike and Sandi, the owners, are your friends, not just the inn-keepers. While I have had very good breakfasts at other B&Bs, these three were among the best. The cookie "snacks" in the afternoon were also great. What I like best about this Inn and what I find different from most is that the rooms have the requisite period style and feel but are relatively new as a result of a recent renovation. The bathrooms must have been gutted at that time because the bath is a dazzling white and bright room with all new fixtures including a whirlpool bath. While I like antiques, etc. I also like doors to properly close and things to be relatively plumb and especially a clean and fresh bathroom. The king bed was great. Although we made a reservation for next Columbus day weekend, I am sure we will be back much sooner.

We stayed at the Yellow Farmhouse Inn just last week. It is without a doubt the cleanest and most relaxing place we have ever stayed. The scenery is spectacular and the hosts, Sandra and Mike, have gone out of their way to make sure guests feel welcome and pampered. The breakfast was like something out of a five star restaurant. We had tea and fresh cookies awaiting us upon our arrival. The town is full of interesting shops and restaurants and there is a lot of nature to explore. Do not hesitate to visit here. You will not be disappointed.

We decided to take a mini golf vacation. Stayed with Mike and Sandra at the Yellow Farmhouse Inn. Breakfasts were to die for!!!! Mike and Sandra had great knowledge of the area. What to do, where to go and where to eat. The Inn is warm and cozy. Like a home away from home. Very relaxing and the views of the mountains were amazing. From the cleanliness of the rooms to the aroma of the home baked cookies that were left for us each night were a great touch. The area is surrounded with great places to dine as well as a great round of golf at Sugar Bush Golf Resort. We were sad to leave and can't wait to return. This will definately be a summer retreat for us. We also hear it is great for winter activities. If your looking for a place to stay anytime of year, Mike and Sandra's Yellow Farmhouse Inn is the place to stay.

We stayed for a week at the Yellow Farmhouse Inn for our 20th anniversary. We loved it. The rooms are large, clean and well maintained. The dining room and living rooms are spacious, and the porches are pleasant for sitting and relaxing. The owners, Sandi and Mike, are very nice. Sandra makes a great breakfast and both are very knowledgeable about the area.

Location was important to us. We used the Inn as our base for touring Vermont. Ben & Jerry's, the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory, the von Trapp Family Lodge, and farms for cider and maple syrup were among the many places we visited. Within easy walking distance of the Inn is the Chamber of Commerce and a place to rent kayaks, etc. The rivers and trails in the area are beautiful. Finally, the restaurants in the area are excellent.

The only negative was that on a hot day, the window a/c was not very effective.

Bay Area

Stayed here a few weeks ago. We were in the suite. There were three of us out to Vermont for the weekend. Mike and Sandy are very friendly and very accommodating. Mike was full of suggestions on things to do in the area.

The rooms were clean, charming, perfect for our group. If you are not happy with the 10" TV in the room.... why are you going to Vermont for the weekend? So that you can sit in front of the TV the whole time? We did not even turn it on, but instead had a pleasant conversation and a glass of wine on the awesome swing on the front porch.

We would definitely come back here.

The only negative I found about the place, is not actually with the inn itself. The town is dead. Like really really really (did I say really enough times to get my point across) dead after about 6pm.
