We've come back here two years in a row for a VT ski trip. Everything has been perfect both times. Very scenic and perfectly kept inn, amazing breakfasts, and the most friendly innkeepers. We'll be back.

The Yellow Farmhouse is delightful. The decor is charming. The rooms are spotless. And the breakfasts are delicious. Mike and Sandra are the '92-'93 Toronto Blue Jays of the Bed and Breakfast game.

If you're skiing at Mad River Glen or Sugarbush, or just visiting the area, you'll not be disappointed with The Yellow Farmhouse. Close to town but set back from the main roads, it's ideally set: quiet and picturesque, but not far from restaurants and the like, and only a short trip to the hills... plenty of time to enjoy breakfast and reach the summits for first tracks.

This year was our fourth stay at the Yellow Farmhouse, and somehow, it really does seem to get better and better every year. We turned up anticipating delicious breakfasts, afternoon apres ski treats, long soaks in jacuzzi baths, and long, relaxing nights of sleep. Well, we got all these things and more! Mike and Sandra welcomed us back like old friends (as did Dolly, their adorable dog). They helped us plan where to eat, so that we wouldn't miss any of the new restaurants or our old favourites (some places in Waitsfield are closed for a few days mid-week). We went back to the wonderful American Flatbread and Mint, and also tried two excellent new places; Peasant in Waitsfield, and Salt, in Montpellier, on Mike's recommendation. They had organized our ski passes (good for Sugarbush, Mount Ellen and Mad River Glen) in advance, so we were able to go straight to the slopes with no hassle on our first day. They also gave us the benefit of their local knowledge to help us pick the best place according to the conditions each day. There is some seriously good mogul skiing in Mad River Glen, and the character and charm is like nowhere else we've ever skied (France, Austria, and Italy included).

The level of attention to detail at the Yellow Farmhouse is what elevates it to a level far above most B&Bs. Mike and Sandi have a way of making their guests feel so welcome without ever being fussy or over-familiar. Breakfasts are outstanding, and we looked forward to afternoon tea all the way back from the slopes to the inn.

Whether it's your first or fourth time in Waitsfield, Yellow Farmhouse Inn is not to be missed.

Room Tip: We stayed in Nicole and Caroline this year, both of which were pretty, spacious, and very comfortabl...

My sister and I visited Waitsfield to celebrate my birthday and ski at Sugarbush. We were so happy that we chose the Yellow Farmhouse Inn! The Inn is tastefully renovated and perfectly clean with spacious rooms complete with nice bathrooms and very comfortable beds. Close to Waitsfield shops and restaurants, and skiing at Sugerbush and Mad River Glen, the Inn is nicely situated surrounded by the charm of the Vermont countryside - complete with beautiful Halflinger Horses Ule and Bella, the first to greet you when you arrive. Owner/operators, Mike and Sandi, made us feel at home with everything we could have wanted to enjoy our weekend getaway. Breakfast was scrumptious, and the restaurant Mike recommended, nearby "Peasant", was extraordinary - a delicious and memorable Italian dinner. We look forward to our next stay at the Yellow Farmhouse!

Room Tip: We stayed in Caroline, which we liked very much. Every room is different, but all the ones we were...

I stayed at Yellow Farmhouse Inn leading up to our wedding weekend and it was the perfect place for a bridal party to congregate, and for the bride to relax beforehand (the whirpool tub certainly helped)! We had plenty of room in the Morgan Ashlee suite for bridesmaids, hair and makeup artists, photographers & videographers! Mike and Sandy are wonderful hosts, and their Inn is beautifully decorated and maintained. They make a great breakfast and included some special treats for us including a bottle of champagne and cookies in our room on our wedding night. We look forward to returning to Mad River Valley and Yellow Farmhouse Inn very soon!

We had an opportunity to stay at the YFI over President's Day weekend. Mike and Sandy were excellent hosts. Mike was extremely helpful in making dinner reservations and recommendations for other places we should go. Sandy's breakfasts were special, and her afternoon cookies, brownies and soups were wonderful. We couldn't wait to get back to the inn everyday to see what was baking. Wonderful smells coming out of that kitchen! We felt very much at home in the comfy living room with the fireplace going and the beautiful views out the front windows. We stayed in the Stephanie room which is huge and very nicely decorated. If you get the chance to stay here, you won't be disappointed. We loved it and hope we can visit with Mike and Sandy again.

We have stayed at the YFI several times now and have thoroughly enjoyed our experience each time. IMHO this is Vermont B&B hospitality at its best. The Inn is always decorated impeccably with seasonal decor. Although we haven't stayed in every room we have stayed in several. This time we experienced the "Olivia Room" which was another treat. The bed was so comfortable we wanted to stay in bed all day. The primary reason for getting out of bed was Sandra's breakfast waiting for us each day :). Well, hitting the ski slopes was an incentive too I suppose. In the Olivia Room we enjoyed the gas-powered Vermont Castings Stove which kept us very warm. The room was very spacious, comfortable, and clean.

The Innkeepers Mike and Sandra are delightful. They really go out of their way to assist you in any way they can. They are very knowledgeable about the Mad River Glen and Waitsfield areas as well as the state of Vermont as a whole. When Mike allows Sandra out of the kitchen to talk to the guests she is as adept a conversationalist as he is. If you need restaurant recommendations Mike & Sandra have always pointed us in the right direction. Speaking of eating, don't miss out on Sandra's excellent baked goods (oh, those brownies and lemon bars!) and her soups/stews/chili which are usually available on the Saturday of holiday weekends.

Every time we have stayed at this B&B we have enjoyed the company of other guests. The living room is open and invites one to relax, read, play games, enjoy the gas stove, etc. If you catch the horses in the stable across the street go over and say hello -- they are beautiful and friendly.

If staying in the Waitsfield area pamper yourself and stay here. We know we will again!
