“Nice Apres Ski Bar”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

Visited this tavern-style restaurant a few times now after ski days at Mad River Glen, most recently last week. Really cute interior, a classic Vermont pub with great beers on tap. The bartender has been the same for all my visits (MJ? MK? I forget her name) and she is always friendly and willing to chat, especially with skiers. Staff have always been attentive to guests. There are tables as well for diners and a beautiful fireplace with comfy chairs. This is a localfolk hangout, though, so expect it to become crowded after 5 pm. Children seem to be welcome. I recommend the Jamaican Jerk wings with a side of hot sauce, very tasty and spiced with cloves. Veggie burger is really good, house-made, not the dry frozen veggie burgers some places have. Prices are what you would expect from a small tavern--not super cheap but not outrageous, in the $12-20 entree range.

“Excellent food and service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

The menu is filled with comfort food and the servers were very nice. The food was great and the price was ok, given that it is a resort area.

“Old reliable....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012

This place is an old standby. Been going here for years and just got back to it after a couple of years away from this area of Vermont. The food is consistent, the bar is fun and while it never impresses, it never, ever lets you down. Kids had excellent burgers and the wings were perfect, well done as we requested. Service was very friendly and attentive.

“terrific home made food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

I love this place. It has excellent food and service. The bar is fun with a pool table. This is great place to hang out after skiing. This is not a fancy place but on a busy holiday weekend... the restaurant will eventually sit you after a short wait. I love the meatloaf (though lately it does not have cheddar cheese... I am working on this change). They used to have a very good salmon though I have not had it lately.

Loved the quiet atmosphere and all the homemade food. Would definitely recommend for an evening meal in the mountains of Vermont
