i stayed here this past weekend with my partner. i had never been to stowe, and found that it was a wonderful place with lots to do and lots of mounts to hike and climb.
the inn was really welcoming, their rooms were very good and cozy, and the hosts were wonderful, and michael was kind enough to bring an extra blanket late at night.
overall the stay was great, the price was really, really good (even for us, who always travel on a budget) and the location was very in-the-middle-of-everything, and close to very good restaurants; despite this, our room was super quiet and gave us a good night's sleep.
i would definitely recommend this place for anyone traveling solo or with a partner.

OK..first, apologies that I did not write MUCH sooner. It was Oct 2008 that we stayed here, the new owners had only been there a few weeks, many improvements were already there to be seen. Stylish Lounge area, games room beneath. Breakfast was fine and there is a really nice restaurant just next door. ( well the food was great but the Decor was all 'DOGGY' stuff....!!! weird ). If you are travelling, as we were....this is a comfortable stop over, we had the Jacuzzi right outside our door, very handy. There is an Outdoor pool too, for warmer weather.

It was coming up to Halloween, and the Decorations were excellent. America goes Halloween crazy !!! and England is slowly catching up !!!

Highly recommended

The visitor center in Stowe helped me with my reservation at the Arbor Inn and I'm very glad they did. The location is away from the more congested areas of the village but close to a bike rental shop, the recreation path and right next door to Gracie's restaurant. My room faced the mountains and was very charming. The owners are doing a nice job of fixing the Inn up. Michael and Cody are very friendly and helpful and put together a terrific breakfast--fresh fruit, cereals and a choice of 4-5 hot meal selections. My eggs and sausage were delish. I would definitely stay here again.

We were extremely pleased with Arbor Inn. The place was very clean, there was parking, the beds were comfortable, quiet (great for sleeping!). The breakfast included in the price was fresh, home-made and great -tasting. Michael and Cody were both very hospitable and ready to provide us with useful tips of interesting places in the area. The hotel is well situated, close to town and other activities. We will definitely be staying there again.

When you love the inn keeper but not the inn, it's hard to write a negative review. Other reviewers will report how pleasant Michael and Cody are - true and certainly part of the strength of the Inn. Unfortunately, the rooms and diningroom are no where near as pleasant as the owners. My room was rather small, wall to wall carpeted, and so musty that we bought incense and burned it in the room. We were traveling with friends in the next room and neither the rooms nor the public lounge area were particularly comfortable for the four of us to socialize in. I think any fair review has to match the critisism to the price of lodging. The Arbor is probably a fair deal for the price. The view of the slopes of Stowe out the window is great. The breakfast was very good - they can actually make a strong cup of coffee, which seems to elude most inn keepers. It was quiet on the first floor with an early to bed couple above us. I don't know what louder guests would have sounded like.

We stayed here in March to do some spring skiing at Stowe. The inn was very nice. Breakfast was great and Michael and Cody were great hosts. I would definitely stay here again.
