“beautiful views and comfortable accommodations”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2012

I spent three nights at the resort last week. I signed up for a tennis clinic at Top Notch, but wanted a little nicer room than that resort could offer me. The property is relatively new, so the rooms are still clean and bright. Unfortunately, it rained all three days. Check in was delayed until 4pm because they had a large wedding over the weekend, so I didn't get into my room until right at 4. The front staff did call my cell phone when it was ready and that was a nice touch. Tom, in reservations was great when I was asking about room types. He was very helpful and pleasant and I really enjoyed my room. I didn't like the fact that you had to valet, so if you needed to run into the resort and back out, you had to give the valet your car. I don't mind paying a parking fee, but there should be another option for people staying at the hotel. I had a nice meal at the bar one night and the food was outstanding. And, I did a 80 minute massage at the spa and it was fabulous! I would definately recommend this property and will be staying there again on my next visit to Stowe.

Room Tip: I had an Alpine studio on the 5th and the view was amazing.

This hotel is so wonderful. I don't even know where to start. Everyone was super friendly! The place is beautiful....something out of a movie! We stayed in June so the lush green mountains were our backdrop. Our room overlooked the pool and had a great view of the mountains. The pool was amazing! So beautiful and just the right temp. The hot tubs were perfect! At night there is a bonfire near the pool where everyone gathers to chit chat...one family even brought smores to share! There was a nice gas powered fire place in our room that really added to the atmosphere and made the room super cozy. The bathroom is just beautiful! A glass enclosed shower and nice bath tub. Super roomy and really nice bath products as well. There is a fridge microwave burner coffee pot, dishes and pots and pans. This stay was just perfect andthe perfect place to relax and enjoy family time. It is super clean.

Thank you for such wonderful feedback! When people are so comfortable here that they feel like this is a home away from home, then we have succeeded. Even though you were here in June, the pool is open all year for outdoor fun no matter the season! We hope to welcome you back for poolside fireside chats soon.

This is my first review on TripAdvisor. I could not pass up the opportunity to let everyone know how unbelievable Stowe Mountain Lodge is. It was our first visit to Stowe Mountain Lodge and we could not have been happier or more impressed with the property, service, and food. Everything was first class. The rooms were beautiful and the pool area was amazing. Our daughters loved the alpine slide, bungee, and climbing wall at the mountain and they swam in the pool for hours. We ate at Solstice and the food was fantastic. I can't say enough about how wonderful our stay here was! My husband always has something bad to say about hotels but he is still raving about our getaway and wishes he could be back at the lodge! We all do! We are already planning a return trip! Thank you Stowe Mountain Lodge for a wonderful family vacation!

My wife and I recently returned to Stowe for our anniversary getaway.
The hotel itself is luxurious as were the rooms, and the hotel staff were incredible!
Granted, it was during the offseason, but our room was upgraded each of the three times we visited Stowe!

Peter, the Hotel Concierge, went out of his way to arrange dinner reservations for us for our anniversary dinner....fabulous!! If you want to know where to eat and what to see during your stay, be sure to visit with Peter first, you won’t be disappointed

But the main reason we returned to SML was the Spa, and the staff at the Spa.
Like most Spas, Stowe has several traditional massages/treatments but they also offer a fabulous array of holistic massages/treatments.

On our very first visit to the Spa I booked a Reiki/Sound healing session in a Carbon Fiber chair. The experience was unbelievable! Cynthia, the Reiki Master on staff at the Spa was fabulous…almost magical. From that point on I was 'hooked'. On completion of that session I booked a Reiki, and/or Reiki infused massage, session each day for the remainder our stay.

My wife had a similar experience at the Spa. Typically she would book the traditional type massages, but this time she tried one of the holistic types. Her first selection was Reflexology & target massage with Jennifer. To this day she is still telling her friends how fabulous these holistics treatments are at the Spa at SML.

We are both looking forward to our next visit to the Spa at SML…can’t wait !!!

This hotel is well situated in the hills and mountains of Vermont. As a summer destination there are many outdoor pursuits to enjoy or the hotel is a good base for exploring the local area (Ben & Jerry's, Burlington, etc.). The hotel itself was kept in good condition and all the staff were really friendly and helpful; there was a good selection of local beers at the hotel bar at fairly reasonable prices and the bar staff were knowledgeable about them. We stopped in a Timberline Studio room and it was excellent - our only real gripe was the lack of water pressure in the shower(!) but I guess this is a conservation measure. There could have been a bit more variety on the restaurant menu but the food we had was really good and not too badly priced. Would definitely stop there again and would love to see it in full flow in the winter when all the ski runs are open! TIP: Try flying to Montreal and driving down from there rather than going to Boston and heading (a long way) north.

Room Tip: Ask for one that doesn't overlook the pool in the summer months and quieter rooms are at the ver...

The Stowe Mountain Lodge was a perfect and relaxing way to end an east coast tour through NYC and Boston. The staff addressed us by name from the time we arrived. From the valets to the concierge and front desk personnel, everyone showed us exceptional service. The pool is beautiful, the gym as large and well equipped as a private club, and the spa better than many 4-star hotels I've visited. Housekeeping was great, often cleaning our room while we were gone for just an hour for breakfast and providing turndown service in the evening. We were here on a summer promotional rate and I still can't believe what an amazing value we got for a beautiful room, incredible, personalized service, and great amenities. Can't wait to come back to Stowe and the Stow Mountain Lodge during leaf or ski season! Tip: Don't miss Hen of the Wood restaurant in Waterbury when you visit - simply amazing!
