“Very enjoyable hidden gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

Harrison's is a little hard to find, tucked behind a realty company on Main Street and down a narrow staircase. Once there, it is a delightfully cozy spot with a mahogany bar and a few tables and booths around a fireplace. We were there on a Monday, and it was full by 6:30 pm with locals as well as tourists. We took a Trip Advisor reviewer's advice and had the mussels. They were fantastic, served in a flavorful béchamel sauce with shallots and green onions, and fresh warm bread. You must try these! The lobster risotto was beautifully presented, with good chunks of lobster and zucchini, but the rice was runny and not seasoned well. My husband had the chicken piccata, which looked wonderful and he loved it, but I tasted it and thought it was a little too lemony. Good service. All in all a positive experience.

“Our Favorite Restaurant In Stowe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

Every year we go to vacation in Stowe & we always begin our stay with dinner at Harrison's Restaurant & Bar! This is truly a wonderful, cozy & very friendly restaurant with excellent food & wine. The ambiance is really warm & inviting with lots of wood & great lighting. The staff are all very professional & will cater to your every need. The last night of each of our vacations we finish it off by making a reservation at Harrison's again to put the icing on the cake. We would heartily recommend Harrison's to everyone!!

“Popular restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

Reservations are a must as this restaurant is booked up well ahead. This was a very nice restaurant. There were many high end menu offerings. We had a group of five and all of us ordered something different. Each dish was excellent. Service was average.

“Inflexible, Pricey and Mediocre Food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

We made reservations for 5:30 on a Sunday evening and found ourselves running about 30 minutes late. We called around 3:30 to ask to delay our reservation by 30 minutes, instead of simply showing up late. The restaurant declined our request, saying they were full. We hurried our travel and made the 5:30 reservation, only to find empty tables around us until we finished our meal and left at 6:30. Their inflexibility set the wrong tone. Menu choices are varied but rather pricey. I tried the ribeye steak and found it to be quite fatty, not just marbled. All in all, this was the worse dining experience we had in Stowe during our stay.

“Great food and service”

The atmosphere at Harrison's is great. Our waitress was attentive and helpful. We both had specials which were excellent. We will go back when we are in the area again.
