“"Cool Date Spot"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2008

I found Harrison's on the local website. I called ahead to see if they could put flowers on the table (I was coming from MA) for a special date. They totally took care of everything, even surprised us with a dessert. Thank you Harrison's for everything that night! We had a fantastic time and the atmosphere and food can't be beat!

“Totally depends on who's in the kitchen”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2007

I've had some OK meals at Harrisons, but I've also had a few poor ones as well. I guess some nights the chef/owner is there and some nights she's not. Anyway, the food at Harrisons is middle of the road, nothing exciting but usually OK. On the plus side the prices are better than average for Stowe (they would be considered expensive elsewhere for this quality of food) but the atmosphere is sort of comfy and the servers are usually pleasant, so the entire experience is better than average for Stowe. Gourmet's and foodies will be dissapointed here, but if you want hang out in a comfortable place with friends or family and the food's not the most important thing, then Harrisons will do.

Amazing food coupled with a great wine list. Wait staff is knowledgeable and friendly -- a MUST visit restaurant when in Stowe.

“Fantastic country charm with excellent food and drink!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2007

We discovered Harrison's on a visit to Stowe , Vermont this autumn. Tucked behind the high street, its the perfect spot of lunch or dinner after a long day of exploring Stowe. The food and beers were excellent and filled our bellies after a long walk. Plus it oozed charm. Coming from the UK, it reminded me of my local pub but with a unique Vermont feel. Sit at the bar for a quick bite and drink whilst chatting to the bartender. Or get a booth for a bit more intimacy. The staff were friendly and helpful (gave advice on where to buy sports kit ) - a true sign you are in the country! Strongly recommended for lunch, dinner or just a nibble + drinks! And maybe I might see you there again soon!

“Always a good bet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2007

If you are looking for a place in Stowe that will make you feel welcome and like a local, look no further. As you enter down the stairs into this cozy restaurant you automatically feel at home. It is wonderful to be met with a warm smile after spending the day on the slopes or hiking the trails. Harrisons has a great bar that you can comfortably sit at and enjoy a terrific meal, not to mention listen in on the local happenings of the town. If you are with a group it also works well as they have a great group table near the fireplace. The food is always fresh and offers great takes on everyone's favorites. The pasta dish is huge and enough to keep you skiing all day. The service is quick and done with a smile, which can't be beat. Whenever I am in Stowe I always make it a point to stop in and grab a nice bite and a cold beer, of which they have several local brews on tap!
