Arrived late on a Friday night and stayed through Tuesday in one of the small rooms (Spruce I think). Snowboarded each day (2 at Stowe, 1 at Jay Peak, and 1 at Smuggs).
The Inn - The owner, Tom, is really friendly. I'd recommend calling and asking if they have any specials, we got a much better rate that way than on one of the booking sites. The breakfast each day was awesome (fresh fruit, fresh baked bread, and a main course that was an egg dish or pancakes or french toast) especially for being included in the price. The lounge and great room were quite nice, both having a fireplace. Other guests were often around in the evenings and friendly to talk to. The only downside here was that the hot tub was out of order while we were there unfortunately.
The Room - We stayed in one of the cheapest rooms and expected it to be small, which it was very small, basically the size of the queen bed. Not a bad thing as we were expecting to ski every day and the lounge and great room are such nice places to relax in front of the fireplace. The bed was comfortable, though we seemed to slide towards each other on the mattress during the night. The bathroom was nice, clean, and functional. The only real complaint about the room we had was that the walls are fairly thin. The first night, we arrived very late and upon getting into our room we could hear a guest or two in the room(s) around ours snoring. It wasn't loud but definitely distinguishable. It didn't bother us or interfere with our sleep but if you're a light sleeper I can see it being an issue (or bring ear plugs).
The Location - Great location, right off the main road between the Stowe town and ski resort. Short drive to Stowe, around 1 hour and 15 minutes to Jay Peak and just under an hour to Smuggler's Notch.
Overall, it's a great value place with a lot of character and charm. I'd recommend it to anyone but especially to anyone that enjoys making friends in the great room and doesn't expect to spend much time in their room.
