I guess I am just spoiled when it come to what I consider good quality in resorts where I stay. I have been to Whistler, Heavenly, Hilton Head, Steamboat, various Florida resorts and most if not all are better than this place. While the 'staff' NOT the management company, try to make you comfortable, it does not excuse the poor lack of maintenance in the units.
Check-in was smooth, the young girl behind the counter was nice, but did not like a lot of questions, and almost seemed annoyed that I just did not go away after getting my check in packet.
I started to worry about the place when we had to drive up the hill to get to the unit and we noticed that the road was falling apart and filled in with gravel. The complex really needs to repave the road now...
Upon condo arrival, and climbing lots and lots of stairs, we found the unit to be furnished with ‘blue light’ or Wal-Mart ‘special’ furniture. The dining table - straight out of the 70's, cheap chairs that squeak when sat upon or you moved, and were sticky to boot. Food was built-up in the grout of the tiles that made up the top of the table.
AC is a single loud wall unit. There are two stand-fans to help move the air around the unit. The units have very thin walls, we had the pleasure to hear the kids running around above us at all hours.
The kitchen has a rusted out dish washer on its last leg. The counters are faux leather laminate and showing their age. The cupboard are pressed particle board and the laminate layer has worn off inside which now leaves wood debris on anything placed on them. The stove is at least 12 years old along with the fridge (which was dented). Bare minimum in pots/pans and utensils provided. No measuring cups. We needed scouring pads to clean as the dishwasher would not thoroughly clean. One of many upsetting factors was that most (60%) of the utensils in the drawers were still dirty (food particles still on them) to the point that we had to soak and re-wash all of them to be safe.
No outdoor pool. In-door pool did not even seem heated when we went to use it. It is 8’ deep. The hot tub water looked very cloudy and ick floating. Kids were using it as their personal pool.
The bedrooms - extremely small though they do have enough storage for clothes. Beds - totally uncomfortable. We had to put extra blankets under the mattress just so we would not roll to the center. The mattresses definitely needed to be replaced.
The bathrooms are tiny. Matching cupboard from kitchen hanging in the bathrooms and same condition - falling apart on the inside.
Biggest complaint while staying - laundry facility or lack thereof. The units and various buildings do not have their own laundry. The laundry facility is in the main activity hut where the pool is located. The laundry room is in the lower section, with its own entrance. Note - you have to pay to use the washer / dryers - $1.00 each and the so are the single serving detergent supplies available for purchase. The washers are extremely small load capacity. There are only 2 washers and two dryers for the entire complex and one of the washers has been out of commission for the past 5 days we have been here. So, think about this - 1 washer, for Buildings A-G and 7 units per building (you do the math). People were fighting over the washer which did not even wash the clothes that good. The management company should have brought in additional washers (there would have been room for 3 of them) to help correct the issue. And to boot – the machines work off of quarters, and the bill to quarter machine is located in the upper section of the activity hut and those doors lock at 9pm and open back up at 9am. So if you don’t have any quarters and have the opportunity to use the facilities, you’re out of luck until the AM when you get to fight everyone again to use the single washer.
If you are a RCI, Blue Green, Credits, or other resort trading individual, only use this place as a last resort until they upgrade and update, or unless you don’t expect much when you trade to start with.
