“Nice location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2011

Attended a conference held at this resort. Our 2nd floor room was wonderful...spacious and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Shops across the street and the VonTrapp lodge is up the road. A bike path is close by. There is a womens' only gym. Charlie B's Pub was adequate. Check out the Dutch Pancake House down the road!

Room Tip: 2nd floor has nice views!

Upon arrival, you instantly become more relaxed. The fresh mountain air and tranquil setting create the perfect getaway. I had the pleasure of staying in one of the townhomes..... Spacious 2 bdrm/3 bath, full kitchen, fireplace, living & dining room----all the comforts of home! The staff is unbelieveable! Dined at Charlie B's both nights and received warm welcomes each night.....and had excellent meals. Was actually quite impressed by the food!! (Huge sticking point for me!:) Spent the better part of Saturday afternoon at the Spa----and can honestly say this was my best spa experience to date. The therapeutic waterfall and Hungarian mineral bath were incredible and I enjoyed the best 60 minute massage I have ever received. Easily the best massage therapist I have ever had. Truly can not say enough about my experience and my sincere thank you to the entire staff for helping to create such a memorable and relaxing weekend. Thank you Stoweflake-- can't wait to see you again soon!

Room Tip: Check out the Townhomes!!!! Absolutely worth it!

I just returned from a weekend at the Stoweflake Resort and Spa and the entire experience was absolutly incredible. Their women's only gym was a great place to work out with a variety of machines and workout tools. It was the first time I have ever worked out two days in a row on vacation! Both nights I ate at Charlie B's Pub where the staff was amazing. The waitress remembered us the second night and everyone was so pleasant and helpful. The best part of this trip was the spa experience. I have been fortunate enough to have about four spa experiences and this was the best by far. The staff was friendly and took the time to show us around and explain each amenity. My masseuse was extremely knowledgable and did an excellant job. The surroundings were so calming and comfortable. My overall experience at the Stoweflake was above any expectations and I cannot wait to return.

Room Tip: I stayed in one of the condos at the hotel and I wanted to make it my home, it was beautiful!

My girlfriends and I stay at Stoweflake 2 times each year for a 2nt stay each time. This was our 8th stay and once again we had a marvelous experience. The highlight of staying at Stoweflake is The Spa! The Spa has so much to offer. The staff and astheticians are excellent. The Hungarian mineral bath, Bingham Falls, hot tubs, sauna, steamroom, cold face towels, sliced cucumbers for your eyes, huge showers, private dressing rooms, complimentary products for use in the spa, rehydration station and the serenity lounge are amazing!!! Use of the spa facilities are complimentary with a paid service but you can use the spa for a small daily fee without purchasing services. It is one of the BEST SPAS IN THE USA! Lots of national magazines say so but we know it for a fact! Spa services offered range from the usual to the very specialized and they use lots of local products during the services. Try a Maple Sugar Scrub or Maple Facial!

We always stay in a Spa Wing room with a fireplace to make it super easy to get back and forth from the Spa without walking through the hotel. The rooms are comfortable but not luxurious. All offer coffee maker, mini fridge and spa robes. Spring and Late fall offer great deals with discounted rooms and Spa Specials. Breakfast and afternoon tea are offered in the lobby. Both are a nice touch and offer obvious continental choices. The restaurants are warm and welcoming. Prices are very reasonable and the wine list is impressive.

The full service gym offers co-ed exercise facilities with an indoor pool, locker room, another sauna and steam room. There is a women only exercise room closer to The Spa as well as a wonderful exercise class studio and spinning room.

Always call the hotel directly when booking and ask for Loretta! She has been with Stoweflake for many years and really knows how to take care of a customer! The website rarely allows you to book the best rate so calling the hotel is always best.

Having been in the hotel industry for a number of years, I consider myself kind of critical with what constitutes a good hotel and employees that make a difference. We were very pleased to see that Stoweflake's employees work as a team to make their guests stay a pleasant one.
Sitting in the lobby reading a book by the fire, I was amazed at the number of employees that walked by, enroute to somewhere on their busy schedule, but took the time to take care of something along the way. The chef walked by, called someone in the kithcen to add more cookies or refresh the afternoon coffee service - the employee came in an instant. The front desk clerk walked through and assisted a guest who had difficulty walking, assuring her that they would indeed have a special chair for her during dinner at the restaurant. Another employee stoked up the fire and added wood. While still another one (they were coming out of the woodwork - didn't know they were that many) straightened up magazines and closed the fire door that had inadvertently come open. The concierge was friendly and welcoming. The waitress was very very nice and accommodating, taking time to explain the menu, even though she had the entire restaurant by herself. She was excellent.
The masseur at the spa was amazing working the kinks out of my neck with professional ease.
Our room, a junior suite was spacious, very nicely appointed with numerous amenites and abeautiful fireplace. Quiet, yet close to the rest of the hotel.
Needless to say, we would love to visit again if we are ever back in Vermont again.
Thank you to management who instills a sense of pride in their employees that making their guest's stay is what constitutes a good worker. You should be very proud of the team you have created.

Myself and 3 friends shared a room with 2 queen beds and a fireplace for 1 night. If I split out the ratings of the hotel/room I would give it an average rating. It was a standard type room, though the fireplace was a nice touch. The BIG plus at this property is the Spa. I would give it an Excellent rating. All the ladies had the maple sugar scrub and massage and then a maple facial We all loved it. We each had different therapists and we all thought we each had the best! It is pricey, but not for this type of spa experience and they do have 1/2 price specials a couple of times a year.
