Stowe Vermont is a great place to visit at any time of year, not just for the fall foliage, or the winter skiing, but also in summer. I can say this with confidence because my wife and I have taken at least part of our vacation there for the past decade. The reason for our many return visits is due in no small part to our enjoyment of the Olde England Inne. We have always found the inne a great place to stay, for us it is very like an English country inne, its comfortable olde world atmosphere has been carefully reproduced by the owners Chris and Lyn Francis. From its fireplaces and afternoon tea to its well furnished rooms and great breakfast menu, not forgetting Mr Pickwicks restaurant and bar, I have spent many a happy evening there and made some good friends too!!

We were part of an antique car tour for a week that was bease in Stowe. The room we had was great. had a 4 poster bed in a large room that included a Jacuzzi. The Staff went out of thier way to be helpful. If I were to offer any complaint it would be that it is a bit pricey but no more than everything in the Stowe area. Cool Place!

We eloped 8 years ago to Ye Olde England Inne after discovering it while we were dating. Not only does it hold a special place in our hearts as a couple but we truly feel that we are visiting old friends(and meeting new ones) when we come to stay. Chris and Lyn, the owners, are kind and caring people who make every effort to ensure your stay is up to par. The staff go out of their way to make sure that you have what you need and are enjoying your stay. The dining(and pub life) is wonderful and menu varied using local products. We stayed while the Inne was full and heard no noise whatsoever. We will continue to enjoy celebrating our anniversary at the Inne and recommend it highly to all who are looking for a relaxing and romantic escape-we are certainly glad that we did!

We choose this hotel because of some of the great reviews it has been given. I think those are either employees of the hotel or they are on serious drugs!

The lobby (and that is not the worst part) looks like it stepped out of the 1970 - red shag carpeting - wonder how long since that has been cleaned. Smells very disgusting.

One flight up stairs to our room. No modern conveniences here like an elevator. More disgusting carpet leading down a narrow hallway - is this within fire code. Barely fits a normal person. Door to room #4 barely opens, because the carpet and the door make too much contact. The door is like something you would see on a house, no security here. A strong push and anyone could be in the room.

The bathroom - should not even be called that. It was the smallest bathroom I have ever been in, and I have been in some small ones in Europe. One person could barely fit in it. Water in sink - constant running.

Old TV with remote control that does not work. Furniture looks like it came from a garage sale.

Window air conditioners. A summer storm blew in and the screen from the other window went flying off. The third window had no handle to open or close it..

The bed looked comforatable but was so high I had to literally jump up to get in it.

We had reserved in advance and thus would have had to pay cancellation fees if we left

YUCK.

Went there for a "Minis in the Mountains" weekend. Had a grand time with old and new friends! Chris and Lynn and their staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. We were treated as special guests and wined and dined with style! A very car friendly place, even for our little Classic Minis! Hopefully it will be an annual event so others can enjoy the fun.
