I was in Stowe for the height of the leap-peeping season, and despite the high traffic and the fact that I was travelling alone, the room I received was excellent, large, spotless, with a big, comfortable bed. It was a "deluxe king" room on the second floor, and so came with a small balcony, which gave a lovely view of the small pond, the turning trees and gazebo on the property and out into the valley beyond. Very beautiful. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The price was also quite reasonable. The location is as advertised, about a half-mile from the center of Stowe village, but easily walkable and with easy access to the beautiful village recreation path. If a half-mile is too far (there really isn't much in the town anyway), there are restaurants all along the road, which is the main drag up to the ski resorts. Breakfast was pretty good, about like a standard coffee-shop breakfast but on the B & B plan, as I was, it was included and adequate. I didn't use them as I was basically out looking at nature but there are nice facilities on-site, including an indoor swimming pool. Tea in the lobby in the afternoon is a nice touch, although it doesn't change the fact that this is basically a large hotel, not a "Vermont Inn" kind of thing. Nevertheless, overall highly recommended.

The room we were assigned was a dump. We did not stay. They charge your card as soon as you make the reservation. I see why.

The said they couldn't move us, they were full. Fat chance.

Resort is very well located for visiting all the attractions in and around Stowe. We were upgraded to a deluxe room with jacuzzi for no extra charge. Staff was very friendly and informative. Included breakfast at the Colonial Cafe was very good and filling. We did not use the services of the spa, but we did check out the facilities and they seemed top-notch. We felt the value was good and would probably stay here again.

Stayed in a room not in the main lodge, the room was decent sized, bathroom a tad small. The room and its furnishings were dated, the sheets were not fitted and by the morning, I felt like a giant wedge, the bindings on the blanket was ripped and it was soiled. The room was clean and the staff at the front desk were pleasant, prompt and friendly and helped with directions. There was an ice machine near the room we were staying in and it was well stocked with ice.
IMHO i felt the property was overpriced for the the room, the surrounding seemed fine and it was located centrally to most things one might want to see or experience.
Not the worst hotel experience we have had, but it surely was not worth the money, at 1/2 the price my rating would have been higher, if we get back to Stowe we will look for another property
