“Great Vermont breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

If you are visiting Vermont and really want to start your day off right, try the Sugar House. I lived 5 minutes away from there and they really have the absolute best breakfasts anywhere in the state. Please don't let the outside condition of the building deter you, as it looks pretty run down. Of course they serve real VT maple syrup with their food. Good tip--underestimate how many pancakes you can eat--they are huge and filling!

“Don't be turned away by the exterior!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

We stopped on our way north on I-89 to Canada. Don't let the exterior turn you away. It looks pretty grubby, but inside it is clean and bright. Service was prompt and friendly. My grilled cheese and tomato sandwich on homemade bread was large and delicious. It was accompanied by homemade potato chips. My husband had one of the choices of breakfast platters with eggs, ham, sausage, bacon and home fries which he deemed excellent. Breakfast is available until closing at 3:00 p.m. Our two meals came to about $20. There is also a very large gift shop on site.

“Best pancakes”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

The apple spice pancakes are the best I have ever eaten. The portions are huge, and a half order of silver dollar pancakes are the most I can eat. This used to the the place I always took visitors out to breakfast for pancakes, but unfortunately this year's price increase has ended that.

“Authentic VT country store and restaurant”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

Super-friendly service and authentic country store/sugar-house atmosphere make up for average food. We went for lunch - okay burgers and club sandwiches (forgot a few components of the orders) but everyone was really nice so that made up for it. They seem like more of a breakfast place. Fun place to stop off if you are passing through. Put a pin on your hometown on the map of the world in the entryway.

“Good Breakfast with Tourist Shop”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2013

You may as well get the pancakes: they are huge and the buckwheat is really good. The helpings for anything else are large enough to satisfy anyone, and for the price it's really hard to beat.
