The staff was nice, the location was good and the hotel itself was nice, however an error that could not be corrected was made as my wife and I visited Burlington Vermont for the first time in our lives for our honeymoon. It was just a weekend getaway but we were provided a room with two double beds and as "it was a busy weekend" no other options were available until the following day (Sunday to Monday). The manager did provide us "a deal" for that night of two double beds but that still isn't anywhere near the comparable experience that we looked forward to. In summary, given the error that occurred I think what was lost on the staff was that this was our honeymoon and while this may be nothing special to a hotel staff as Best Westerns probably service 1000s of couples a year for this event, to each of those married couples it's the only "first trip" they will have in their lifetime. The "compensation provided" would have been reasonable for any "regular trip" but is far from reasonable when it comes to a couple and their honeymoon.

I’m sorry to hear of the miscommunication you had with our staff regarding your honeymoon weekend. I noticed your reservation was made three days prior to your arrival and at that time our inventory was very limited due to the Brewfest at the waterfront. You certainly should have been notified at the time of your booking that we had limited room type availability as we had just two rooms left to sell on the day you booked. I agree the communication got lost in translation with regards to our staff and I am very sorry to hear we did not meet your expectations. We will certainly learn from your experience and appreciate your feedback regarding your stay.
