I responded to the Best Westerns request to rate this hotel, here is what I said;
Very dated, the room smelled mouldy we had to open the windows. There was no sign on the outer doors telling us what section to find the room. The clerk at the check in desk just said our room was in section "B"? We rode back and forth looking for "B" and couldn't find it? Once we did we entered through the back door and there was an over powering stench of rotten food in the stairwell. I only booked the room since the manager was responding to the comments posted on Trip Advisor; I felt it would be a good hotel with a manager who obviously cared that much about customer service and happiness.
Within a day Karen responded with this;
Thank you for completing the survey regarding your recent stay at our property.
On behalf of our entire team, I would like to apologize for not exceeding your expectations. I noticed you were in room XXX, one of our suites. I had that room checked and we did indeed need to pull the air conditioner as there were some issues with the chamber that holds the water, which we believe caused the musty odor. The suites and that stair entrance (we call A) are the last of our room updates that are scheduled for the end of this year. I'm so sorry for the confusion on the location as the entrance B is not labeled and something internally that we use - it is actually our "Conference Entrance". Thank you for giving us the guest perspective that we needed to help us improve.
I'm sorry you had a less than satisfactory experience at our hotel. I have credited your card $25 for the discomfort of the smell in your room. Please know that we are taking your feedback to heart and hope that you will consider staying with us again so that we can have another chance to provide you with a superior experience.
