“Relaxing fun in the heart of Vermont”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

The place is lovely, but the people running it are simply outstanding. So welcoming, warm and very fun! Anatoliy made amazing breakfast, they had great recommendations for the best coffee and cocktails in town, and the walking routes in the woods. The room was spotless and charming. I had a very relaxed, slept like a baby! Would highly recommend this place - which is also centrally located with easy access to everything in town.

Room Tip: every room is different! ask specifically for what you need.

We loved everything about the place, from the large suite to the delicious meals. The innkeepers went out of their way to roll out the red carpet. Our family of four had plenty of room and a few delicious meals at the local restaurants. There's plenty of New England charm and plenty to do in the region. We will return.

We stayed to visit family just before New Years and found HOTV a lovely place with fun and interesting innkeepers - who deliver bigtime at breakfast. Eggs, bacon, fruit, coffee, pastries, everything. Perhaps it's Chef Contos' outstanding shop a half-block east of the inn. Next time we visit we'll book a cooking class. Fortunately there's also a full-service fitness facility about a mile away!

We had booked the inn several months before the wedding we planned on attending. In that time, the Inn acquired new owners- Anatoly and Rose. They were very friendly and understanding of our late arrival (lost in the Adirondacks). They are renovating and that meant our chosen room was unavailable. Luckily, a nicer room in the horse carriage part of the Inn was made available to us.

The bed was probably one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The small box of chocolates that were in the room was a nice touch as well. The room was nicely decorated and was quiet.

Breakfast choices were outlined by Anatoly the night before, so he would know what to prepare. Everything we had was delicious.

Only a few things to mention that need work. I'm sure they will be taken care of as they new owners hit their groove.
1) there was no housekeeping service for the 2 nights we were there. Our bed was not made, clean towels were not provided.
2) because of the renovations the parking was taken up by workmen during the day, so when we got back from exploring, we had a tough time parking.
3) Also because of the renovations, the water was off when we got back to get ready for the wedding we were going to attend that afternoon. They promptly turned it back on at our request.
4) We are coffee drinkers. When we arrived we made it clear we would be searching out coffee prior to breakfast in the morning, but when we went for coffee the next morning, the front door of the main house was locked and there was no response to ringing the bell or knocking. This was around 7:30 am, when we'd been told another group of ladies staying there would be having breakfast at 8am. We received a text at 7:46 telling us coffee was being made. The Keurig machine in the lobby was not being utilized.
5) as a result of the focus being on the interior of the Inn at this moment, the outside/yard could use some TLC. The bushes are a little overgrown and the bedding areas need some attention

B&Bs are frequented by people who want the experience of staying in a friendly, comfortable and welcoming environment. Heart Of The Village Inn has the potential to hit all of these goals. They just need to get things in place and keep things maintained.

We wish Anatoly and Rose much success.

Hotel has got new, very energetic owners who strive to make it a stay to remember. We had 2 rooms which face a rather busy street, but there was still very little traffic noise getting inside. Comfy beds, ample space in the rooms. But the best part is the breakfast: you place your order the night before and in the morning get treated like a king at a dinner table. The 1st day we were served "Vermont cigars" (sausages wrapped in bacon) along with mushroom omelet, and the 2nd day - eggs Benedict with salmon. All this properly sets you up for a day of exploring the area which has tons of attractions a short car ride - and some even pleasant hike - away (Shelburne Museum, Vermont Vineyard, Champlain Chocolate Factory, Teddy Bear Factory, etc). We are planning to stay at the Heart of the Village again on our trip to Cape Cod this summer.
