The manager himself brought our luggage in. That is probably not customary but I was on a motorized scooter and we are both senior citizens. None the less he did this for us. The mattresses and the pillows were very comfortable which is important to me. I have a back problem and sleep with two pillows at home. Most motel/hotel pillows are very uncomfortable therefore we bring our own pillows. Having flown to Vermont bringing our own pillows was not an option.
Wyndham neglected to tell them we were requesting a handicap room. No problem. There were two bars around the bathtub and a full sized shower bench was provided for me. Due to the double events (two triathlons over the weekend) the motel was full and the handicap room was occupied by a handicap person or they would have switched rooms for us. That was not the motel's issue but our timeshare mistake. Days Inn is a Wyndham property and we are timeshare owners.
We would have liked to have a microwave in the room. But that did not present a problem. On the morning of the triathlon they opened the breakfast are at 5 am to accommodate the Triathletes and others going to the triathlon. What service, courtesy, and thoughtfulness! My husband and I were very surprised. I opted to eat Raisin Bran instead of my usual breakfast I had brought with us. My husband cooked his oatmeal in the breakfast area so no problem.
The foods available for breakfast was two kinds of cereal, preparations to make your own waffles, syrup, jams, milk, orange and apple juices, and the usual coffee and condiments for same.
Our room had a beautiful view of an unusual sunrise. I took pictures of that from the dining deck out back. Thirty-two geese decided to make a stop at the field by the pond and took a swim in the pond. I took pictures of the geese from the window of our room directly through the window pane. The geese grazed in the open field and one by one they went onto the pond for a swim and then returned to the field.....one by one. I took a series of shots for this event. It was a beautiful site for me, a photographer. This was not a usual stop for this gaggle of geese.
It is quiet at this Days Inn. It's a short drive, not far at all, to places of interest and to Champlain Lake. For sites of interest like the Teddy Bear Factory, you are much closer to it here than in town because it's south of the Days Inn as are many other places of interest. It's in an ideal location for tourists, economical, and clean. You can understand the staff as they speak very clear English and were very polite. My husband and I highly recommend this Days Inn.
Oh, we passed by the Goodrich Maple Syrup Farm. I sent an email to them requesting information since I am a direct descendant of Ensign William Goodrich. In their website they also mention the Goodrich Dairy. I am researching the Goodrich Library in another part of Vermont. So this was exciting to me. I can add more information and/or write more articles. It appears the Goodrich family had many ancestors and still many descendants in the state of Vermont. Another good reason to go back for a vacation and genealogy research.
When you go, tell them Carolyn and Alfred from Texas sent you.
I have to select family however it was not a vacation and triathlons are a major hobby for my husband just like a business. I take the pictures and he competes.
I've many pictures of the area I could share but ones taken at the motel are what is requested of this website. However I really should share a sunset picture taken at Lake Champlain. My copyright is in a very conspicuous place. I am a photographer.
We plan to go back to Burlington on an actual vacation so we can visit and enjoy the many places to tour and visit. Our choice of where to stay will be this Days Inn.
Our room was on the backside on the same level as the front desk. Any room would be suitable as this...

Dear Carolyn and Alfred;

Thank you so much for your review. You were both delightful guests and a pleasure to serve. We are pleased that you took advantage of the natural beauty that we value and that we hope our patrons will as well. Your photos are stunning and I believe it is the first time I have seen anyone post photos on this site. We have had several guests that have been here for the purpose of researching their ancestry and left satisfied or with a commitment to come back and finish the job. Thank you again and we hope the see you in the near future. Mike says hello and thank you as well.
