“What a Great Place !!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

My wife and I love it here. Our first stay was more than 10 years ago, and we came back a week ago, and it's still awesome. The cabins are warm and cozy, your own porch !!! Fridge and microwave, coffeemaker, all you need..Wi-Fi, too. The owners are great !! You can't beat the location , so much around you, and so much that's such a scenic drive away.

Dana and Kathy Flaherty

Room Tip: All the cabins are great !!

Serenity motel is actually cute little cabins. They are clean and cozy and fairly inexpensive. Nice little porch to sit on though right on a main st it isn't as quiet as u want it to be. any eating places are at least 5 miles away.

Loved the cottages from the moment we pulled in. Quaint and pretty.....light yellow with blue shutters, and little porches with flower bushes adorning the few steps to the porch. A full bed, couch, bathroom with walk-in shower, microwave, little coffee pot with coffee provided and a small refrigerator. Was initially worried about not having a full kitchen because of my gluten-free diet and my need for having to cook my meals, but our little portable propane grill (which we were allowed to use right on the porch) did the job perfectly for breakfasts and suppers., where I fell in love with the porch and we loved to sit there with our coffee in the morning. Shaftsbury is only about a 10 minute drive from Bennington, where we visited Robert Frost's gravesite and the Bennington Monument......not to mention some lovely covered bridges. It's about a half-hour drive to Manchester, and then another half hour to Rutland, where we visited Hildene and then a little further on to Proctor to the Wilson Castle. Route 30 made for a scenic drive on one of our returns back. Price was very affordable.

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and we loved it. The cottage was clean and we enjoyed hanging out on the porch in the morning. It's 20 minutes south of Manchester. The drive to Manchester is scenic so it never felt like a long drive. We chose to stay here because it was less expensive than the bed and breakfasts in Manchester plus we wanted to stay a little more off the beaten path. We enjoyed talking with the owners Cecelia/John and they were very helpful. Would definitely return.

This is a charming little place. The owners are very sweet and went out of their way to make sure we were well taken care of. We arrived late in the evening and they were very accommodating. We had a cute little cottage with one full and one twin bed. Cabin furnishings are older and not anything fancy, but we had everything we needed. It got quite cool at night. They had extra blankets and the heat worked fine. The cottages back up to a big open field with picnic tables and grills, a good area for kids to go burn some energy. The grounds were tidy and the cabins are far enough off the road that there isn't much, if any, road noise. The location is great for exploring the Bennington/Manchester area. Prices are also incredibly reasonable.

...but very small. We stayed in cottage 8 which was farthest from the highway. It had one double bed, a small couch ,small table, two chairs,a dresser with mini fridge and microwave.A coffee maker and coffee packets were also provided. The bathroom was clean but small, luckily the shower stall was moderate sized. All linens and towels were clean and spotless. The only problem was that the room was very small, there was hardly any space to move about. There were a table and two chairs outside on the porch but it rained continuously while we were there so we could not sit outside. The grounds were beautifully kept and the owners were very nice and friendly.

Hello:
My wife and I stayed at Serenity for one night this past week. We stayed in Cottage #3 which had a double bed and a couch. Coffee making supplies, a small fridge and a microwave were available. Staying in the cottage brought back pleasant memories of when I was young and when we took our children for weekend trips to the White Mountains. It was very nice to have your own little place and didn't have to worry about whispering to avoid disturbing other guests. Each cottage has it's own porch with a table and chairs which I enjoyed. If you are interested in the foliage or just beautiful views and scenery, right down 7A is West Mountain street which you can follow to see farmland and nice views down into the valley. A very pleasant stay and another good memory of a trip with my best friend.

Take care,
Kevin

Room Tip: Higher number cottages are further from busy Route 7A
