“Deserves Its Own Review”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

For those of you with dearly-departed four-legged canines, you can take photos of your pets to Dog Chapel, which is on the grounds at Dog Mountain in St. Johnsbury. The chapel is quite beautiful -- I was the only visitor while I was there, and ended up spending almost an hour inside, reading the memorial tributes pet lovers tacked up on the chapel walls. What an amazing place artist Stephen Huneck created for those of us who love dogs and wish to leave a part of their memory inside the walls of this special place.

“Quirky and wonderful place for dog lovers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

You'll recognize the artist from the T shirts you see around with wonderful dogs in intersting poses. Here is a whole chapel devoted to dogs, incuding sculptures, art, etc. All on a high VT hill with beautiful scenery. Worth a side trip of Rt. 2

“Attention dog lovers!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

We have vacationed for years in VT and visited most of the " usual" tourist places. This was a fun and different find and we look forward to returning with our dog in warmer weather.

“A Special Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

Art, sacred space, and an innovative spiritual vision make dog chapel both inspiring and poignant. The artist paid a high price for the powerful vision that shaped this special place, and both people and their canine companions seem to discover a healing peace here.

“You get it or you don't”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

If you haven't loved a dog, you might just not get it. This is an extremely moving place for dog lovers to go. We stopped on our 10 day New England trip along with our bulldog. I wanted to stop to leave a pic of our friend's dog who just passed. On our visit, it was raining, and cold, and raining. The Chapel sits on top of a hill overlooking the mountains, the view is just beautiful. Once inside, there is easily thousands of pictures and notes left in memory of passed dogs. As sad as it is, it's wonderful to see how much happiness dogs bring to people lives. This is truly a one-of-a-kind spot, and I hope that it goes on forever. Such a wonderful thing. Thank you...
