my memory of comfort inn suites at st johnsbury, vermont is front desk supervisor eating breakfast at the front desk.

when i checked-in, i was not offered their rewards program or asked if i was a member.

the hotel has free breakfast--great coffee and pastry. the sausage patties and eggs is not appealing. the breakfast staff looked tired.

i have to be fair to the houskeepers. the room was clean and smell good. so kudos to the housekeepers.

suggest: put a "comfort inn" sign by the drive-way entrance.

Thank you for taking time to share your experience. I was very dissappointed to hear about a staff member eating at the hotel's front desk. It's unacceptable on every level. The department manager was informed of your observations when you first emailed me and she has taken corrective steps to ensure that it doesn't happen again. All our guests are encouraged to take advantage of Choice Hotel's frequest stay program. Applications can be found on the front desk of every Choice Hotel nationwide. It has become one of the industries leading rewards program. I also want to apologize for not exceeding you expectations with our complimentary breakfast. We try to offer a quality hot breakfast. It features eggs/sausage, pastries, wonderful coffee cake, healthy cereal choices, fresh breads/bagels and make your own waffle station with real Vermont maple syrup. In keeping with our environmentally friendly promise...our guests eat on plates, forks, knives and spoons made from potatoes(all are 100% biodegradeable). I appreciate you pointing out the cleanliness of our rooms and I will certainly pass your praise on to our housekeeping team. Thank you again for your time and attention.

I had never stayed in a Comfort Inn before. I will now seek out this chain if their other properties are like this hotel! Spacious, comfortable room with good mattress. Clean and well-equipped workout room. Very large and clean indoor pool. The included breakfast was also a bonus: standard fare, but I enjoyed the fresh fruit and my daughter enjoyed the malted make-your-own waffles...a little something in the tummy to get you on your way.
Front desk people were very friendly, as were the outside maintenance staff we bumped into.
If ever in the area again, I would absolutely stay here!

Thank you for taking time to post a review on our hotel. Knowing that you have never stayed at a Comfort Inn & Suites before, it is worth noting that this hotel is not your typical Comfort Inn. Since opening in 2000, the hotel has earned a handful of Gold Hospitality Awards, three Platinum Hospitality Awards and once earned the title “INN OF THE YEAR” out of more than 1500 hotels. The team of people that operate the hotel care a tremendous amount about each and every one of our guests. Collectively, we are committed to ensuring that every guest loves their experience exploring Vermont’s majestic Northeast Kingdom.

Thank you for recognizing our efforts and sharing your experience.

We were amazed at how large the room was. It was as if it was two rooms put together, there were two beds, a fold out couch, a dresser, a tv, three comfortable chairs, a table and a large window. This was only a regular room not a suite.
The breakfast was buffet style. Some items included waffles, sausages, eggs, bagels, pastries and cereals.
The pool was very nice. There was also a hot tub and a wonderfully clean changing room. There was also a fitness room with clean and new looking equipment . The lobby was very large and welcoming.
The staff members were all very helpful as well.
Its location is very convenient and directly off the highway.
St Johnsbury Comfort Inn is so far one of the best hotels I have been to.

Thank you for taking time to write a review about your recent stay. Our rooms and in general, our entire hotel, is "over built". Our guestrooms allow families to sleep six in one room. The number and quality of items on our breakfast is significantly larger than most hotels our size. We offer a larger than average pool, pool sun deck, whirlpool, fitness center, arcade, and guest laundry room.

Thank you again for a great review. We'll hope to see you soon!

We originally stopped at another hotel in Saint Johnsbury, but they were booked and referred us to the Comfort Inn. At first, we weren't sure as we tend to try "local" rather than national chains. However, we were tired of driving and ready to find a place to sleep. The Comfort Inn & Suites in Saint Johnsbury was lovely. The landscaping is beautiful, the rooms are clean and comfortable. Best of all, they are a Green hotel, doing a lot to help keep our environment clean. Breakfast was good -- large selection to choose from. The staff was friendly and helpful. A great place to stay!

Thank you for taking time to post a review of your recent stay. Please know that I share all of our comment cards and reviews with my team members. One observation that you referenced in your review was our property being a "Green Hotel". Two years ago we started becoming "eco-friendly". The transition slowly picked up speed and today I'm proud to say that we are one of the greenest hotels in the Green Mountain State. We offer in-room recycling, a salt pool, compost, purchase recycled paper products, installed energy efficient bulbs inside and outside the hotel, motions sensors are used throughout the property, and we provide "taterware" (plates, bowls, knives, forks, spoons made from potatoes) in our breakfast room. Earlier this year, Vermont’s Governor Jim Douglas presented the hotel an award for being environmentally friendly. We continue to seek ways to lessen our carbon footprint and “do what is right”. Thanks again for staying with us. We’ll hope to see you again!

My wife and I stayed here one night while traveling between Ontario and Maine. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. Everything here seems well-managed and efficient. You truly get the feeling that you're in "good hands". Our room was large, well-furnished including refrigerator and microwave, and reasonably-priced. The only drawback was the limited variety of the breakfast items (in comparison to other Comfort Suites we have stayed at).

Thank you so much for taking time to write a review regarding your stay. I love the "good hands" comment in your review. I believe you have summed up what my staff and I try to provide all our guests. We want our guests to have safe, clean, and comfortable accommodations. As a team, we strive to offer legendary service to all our guests.

I would like to point out that we are a Comfort Inn & Suites...not a Comfort Suites. While the general public may have a difficult time distingushing the difference between the two brands, there are some significant differences. In our case we exceed the Comfort Inn breakfast standards on almost every item. We offer hot eggs, sausage, waffle station, amazing coffee cake, flavored coffee creamers, pastries, bagels, toast, English muffins, fruit, healthy cereal choices, oatmeal, hot chocolate, REAL VERMONT MAPLE SYRUP, coffee, tea, etc. Some Comfort Suites may offer a slightly larger selection but their nightly room rates are usually quite a bit higher than our hotel.

We will hope to see you again on your way back home. Thanks for staying with us!

The Comfort Inn and Suites was really a great place to stay. The Inn's outside grounds was very well maintained as was the inside of the Inn. The front desk staff was extremely polite and helpful. It could not have been easier to sign in or check out. The staff was more than helpful in assisting us with the locations of restaurants that were still open in St. Johnsbury. Our room also had a sitting area which made it very nice to use my laptop and the free WIFI connection. Breakfast in the morning was extremely good. The staff was always making sure everything remained filled and cleaned. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Thank you for writing a review of your stay with us. We take a tremendous amount of pride in the hotel's gardens. Annually we spend upwards of $10,000 on planting vibrant annuals and adding new perennials. Each morning I enjoy watching families take group photos in front of the hotel with the gardens as a backdrop. I cannot think of a higher compliment than families wanting to photograph the hotel and gardens to remember their stay with us.

Thank you again for staying with us...hope to see you again!

Thank you for taking time to write a review of your stay. As you mentioned, are rooms are oversized and our smalled room in the hotel can sleep six (two queen sized beds and a pullout sofa). In addition to our large pool and whirlpool, we also have a huge sun deck, picnic/grill area, fitness facility and video arcade. Thank you for writing that my hotel is both "Cozy and Nice"...I can't think of a much higher compliment. In this day and age of uniformity, it's not easy to create a "cozy" environment. My team members are "hired for attitude and trained for skill"...the end result is I employ "nice" people that care about our guests and their hotel. Thank you again for staying with us. We will look forward to seeing you in the future.
