“can't wait to return to the quechee inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2014

perfect timing for our mid-week getaway to vermont - 18 inches of new snow creating a winter wonderland! it was our first time to quechee/woodstock and we picked the perfect destination. the room, breakfasts, dinner, service, friendliness all a ten - and the common area - coffee bar, real wood fireplace always tended to, comfortable seating - wish we could give it a fifteen!

We just returned from our third trip to the Quechee Inn. We love the beautiful surroundings, the attentive staff, the relaxing common room and the excellent dining. We stayed in the main house upstairs in Room 8 which affords great views of the Ottaquechee River and the surrounding landscape. Our only complaint is that we could easily hear the guests in the adjacent room.

About 25 years ago, we spent a weekend at Quechee Inn with our extended family. Our three children were quite young at the time. I remember how welcome we felt at the Inn, children included, and how much we enjoyed the delicious food, cozy living room and outdoor winter activities. Upon researching places to stay for another winter weekend, this time without toddlers, we noticed a listing for the Quechee Inn. The inn was just how we remembered it; warm and welcoming, beautiful country decor, lovely spacious bedroom, and great food. We enjoyed the farm-fresh Vermont breakfast each morning. Dinner was beautifully presented and delicious. Even though there wasn't much snow, we were able to do some cross-country skiing on the Wilderness Trails. We were absolutely delighted with our return to the Quechee Inn. We won't wait 25 years to return again!

We started coming here over 25 years ago with our young daughters for cross country skiing on their premises. Now we make it an annual pilgrimage to relive those fond memories. It is always a relaxing experience to stay at this inn. Location is so convenient to other towns. If weather is bad, staying in us cozy. Meals are wonderful. We have met so many nice fellow travelers as well. Their midweek packages are what we always sign up for. During the month of
December, I purchase the gift cards for self use at 20% off.

Room Tip: We love the two room suite overlooking the meadow, room 22!

Our family of nine celebrated Thanksgiving at the Inn the day after Thanksgiving and enjoyed every moment. The Inn is very quiet and I fear our three little children may have been a distraction for a couple of the dinner guests. The food was wonderful, as was the service. We enjoyed relaxing in the great room in front of the fireplace after our enjoyable meal.

I had my nuptials at the Quechee Inn in October and it was incredible! Our guests' compliments continue to come into us about the location, the food and the ambiance. We wanted a sophisticated cocktail and dinner party in the Vermont woods, with a sleepover – similar to the great luxurious “camps” of the early 20th century. My wife is from Vermont, and we spend a lot of time there, so the location was a no-brainer.

It’s not often in your adult life that all your favorite people gather in one place, so brought together all of favorite things for them – excellent food, music and rollicking good time. We took over the Quechee Inn at Marshland Farm for the weekend, and Michelle (our wedding coordinator) and staff made sure every detail of our personality was reflected – great cocktails, relaxing lawn games, warm campfires, local food, cigars and whiskey, fluffernutters, meat pies, ham requiring its own passport (from Spain).

We outsourced as much as we could - hired super talented people and let them run with our vision. The thoughtful staff at the Quechee Inn helped tie the vision and design together – like setting up our whiskey and cigar bar outside with a lamp. A LAMP! The total package was beyond our imagination!

Kudos to all!!

Staff like family. great food. Serene location. If you need to get stuck somewhere this winter you could not pic a more lovely spot. Lots of activities of all sorts to suite everyone. We chose to sit by the fire in the great room and rest for the journey home.
