We just returned from a four-night stay at the Golden Stage Inn while skiing at Okemo and Killington, and couldn't be happier with our selection. Think of the inn as the quintissential cozy Vermont inn. The fire is going in the fireplace, the games in the living room are waiting to be played, the warm apple cider and cookies await you after a day in the outdoors, and above all, Julie and Mike greet you with a warm and gracious welcome. My husband and I stayed in George's Room and our two school-age children stayed in the adjacent Rev. Warren's Room. Both rooms were very comfortable with excellent linens and fluffy towels. The only drawback is the tight size of the showers, but it is a very small price to pay for the overall excellence of our experience. We did get to peek at the two family suites and both are beautifully renovated with updated baths. Breakfast each day is a culinary delight, and our hosts went above and beyond to accommodate our slightly finicky children and other dietary preferences. And don't get me going on the delicious honey from the on-property beehives! All in all, the Golden Stage was a wonderful discovery for our family.
