“Great for kids!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2012

This museum is alive with interactive displays that keep kids involved and interested, especially when the outdoor water park section is open in the summer. But adults will find it interesting, too. Worth a side trip for families.

“A first class museum for the young and young at heart”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2012

A fun place for kids and a great place to go on a cold or rainy day. Keeps the kids occupied with lots of interactive things. Visiting programs stay a few months at a time and so its fun to go back lots of times. During nice weather lots to see outdoors too

“What a fabulous place to learn & explore!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2012

The Montshire Museum is located in Norwich, VT and is just a little over an hour from Burlington, VT. The museum is a great place to visit anytime of the year, but we most enjoy it during the summer. During the warm summer months there is a wonderful outdoor science park for watery exploration and discovery and includes a dam and bubbler, fountains and water bells and so many other fun, interactive elements. We usually start inside in the morning, where there are both rotating exhibits that change quarterly and permanent exhibits throught 5 floors. All of the exhibits encourage exploration, curiosity and are very hands on and interactive. As the day progresses, we make our way outside where we find a shady spot (there are many beautiful options!) for lunch. We usually pack a picnic. After lunch we change into swim suits and explore in the water science park...a great way to enjoy the summertime, stay cool, have fun & learn new things! Our 2 boys (4 and 7 yrs old) always look forward to our visit to the Montshire Museum and we never bore of it either!

“Engaging science museum for all ages”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2012

The Montshire Museum is located in Norwich, Vermont just across the Connecticut River from Hanover, New Hampshire the home of Dartmouth College. It is in a beautiful setting on the Connecticut River and it takes advantage of the location with an outdoor exploratory water park and several trails to hike in addition to all of the exhibits. It is interactive for the children but adults will also enjoy it. There are picnic tables outdoors so bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the day at the Montshire. There also is a train that travels from White River Jct., Vermont to the Montshire. This a great way to add another dimension to a visit to the Montshire.
