“A nice place to dine”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

While in Newport Vt. we had a chance to go to the East Side Restaurant & Pub. We were seated right away with a view of Lake Memephramagog..a beautiful scene. The restaurant was decorated tastefully. There were four of us dining. I had asked for cornbeef sandwich which they were out of..so I settled for a hamburger with bacon, horseradish which was tasty..I like mine med rare this one was a little bit rarer. My daughter had asked for a chicken bomb on a tortillia when it was delivered the whole thing did crumble which wasn't so eye appealing though she said it tasted good, but the tortillia was too crisp. The others were satisfied with their fare. The bill came to around $50+ dollars including beverage. The server was courteous, and efficient. The table was nicely laid. All in all it's worth the trip..and there is a small gift shop that sells home baked items along with souveneir type gifts, also wearing apparel for both men and women..also a wedding boutique is within this shop..so it makes the whole experience worth while.

pleasant atmosphere with a great view. Food was very good. Would like bread served before meal instead of crackers though.

“Stunning views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

I stopped in for lunch at the East Side during a recent stay in the area.

The location is terrific, right on the lake with stunning views all around. Can't wait to go there in the warm weather months and enjoy an adult beverage on their deck on the lake.

Food was delicious and service was adequate.

Make sure you save room and time and stop by their gift shop and bakery (and if you are in need of a gown or tuxedo they have those too). I unfortunately did not have room from lunch to try a treat bu the gift shop has some great local items like Maple Syrup, honey and other like items.

“Amazing Christmas Party, Highly Impressed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

I attended our offices annual Christmas Party at the Dancing Sails Banquet Room at the Eastside and it was wonderful. The waitresses were friendly and kept a smile the entire night. The food not only looked amazing but tasted great. It began with passed horsdoeuvres and cocktails and then an amazing dinner buffet with a carving station of prime rib. Everyone at the Eastside always goes out of their way to make the experience at to the Eastside enjoyable and of course the atmosphere on the water is amazing as well. I look forward to my next meal at the restaurant.
