While in Newport Vt. we had a chance to go to the East Side Restaurant & Pub. We were seated right away with a view of Lake Memephramagog..a beautiful scene. The restaurant was decorated tastefully. There were four of us dining. I had asked for cornbeef sandwich which they were out of..so I settled for a hamburger with bacon, horseradish which was tasty..I like mine med rare this one was a little bit rarer. My daughter had asked for a chicken bomb on a tortillia when it was delivered the whole thing did crumble which wasn't so eye appealing though she said it tasted good, but the tortillia was too crisp. The others were satisfied with their fare. The bill came to around $50+ dollars including beverage. The server was courteous, and efficient. The table was nicely laid. All in all it's worth the trip..and there is a small gift shop that sells home baked items along with souveneir type gifts, also wearing apparel for both men and women..also a wedding boutique is within this shop..so it makes the whole experience worth while.
