“Highly recommended!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2012

We stayed at the Little Gnesta B&B over this past President's Day weekend. It is extremely clean and the Carpe Diem beds were amazing! I have to say, they were the best beds that I have ever slept in. It's a shame that I don't have an extra 6k to buy my own!

Great breakfast, extremely clean rooms, amazing beds, reliable wifi - highly recommended!

This B&B was very clean, with quaint rooms, and an incredible breakfast, with plenty of delicious local food - baguettes, ham, turkey, granola, yogurt, oatmeal, and coffee. We stayed there for a three day ski trip to Jay Peak, and Ruth was a wonderful host.

I enjoyed my time at the gnesta. So clean so Swedish. Ruth is so down to earth. Loved her littled dog Phillip. For me I felt at home.

If you're near Newport, VT, Little Gnesta B&B is the perfect place to stay. I had a wonderful visit in October. The beds and furnishings are wonderfully comfortable, beautifully designed (especially the wood floors and trim), and it is spotlessly clean. It is clearly evident that Ruth loves her B&B and wants the best for her guests. You'll love the location within walking distance to Main Street, the lake and trail. A special value was the care of organic food and local products. Little Gnesta is a gem!

The Little Gnesta is a gem of a B and B - in fact one of the best in the country! I used to travel 20 days a month across the United States and UK and have not found a more comfortable experience anywhere.
From the moment you step into the foyer - you feel at home. Ruth is a wonderful hostess making every detail of your stay perfect. We were upgraded to a bigger room - but all of the rooms are spacious and impeccably appointed with a modern Swedish style - clean, warm and inviting. The windows look out over the town of Newport and the rooms are flooded with light. The beds are the real treat! Simply the highest end bed I have ever slept in - imported from Sweden, the bed's combination of foam, NZ wool and construction allowed me to wake up feeling calm and ready for the day. Incredible! We also were so pleased that Ruth uses duvets on her beds so we felt right at home.
The generous breakfast was filled with all local items, many organic (five stars for that!)homemade granola (she gave me the recipe!) and the fresh bread, cold cuts, wide selection of jams and cheeses were absolutely delicious! We skipped lunch it was so filling.

The sitting rooms and shared areas are beautifully furnished with comfortable seating and an array of books. Wifi is super fast - and the television has more than what we would use, includes netflix and the TV is big enough for me!

The bathrooms are spotless with a wide array of locally made soaps, natural body lotions, spa towels, and a tiled shower which was beautiful. No complaints anywhere, from the clean floors (no outdoor shoes allowed, but thank you for providing indoor slippers for your guests!) to the sparkling personality of it's hostess, Ruth and Little Gnesta will be our home away from home in the Northeast Kingdom. Newport is a sweet little town with much to offer - from the beautiful lake to walking trails, you can hop over to Montreal quickly or ski up at Jay peak and still enjoy the quiet of this little town.

Room Tip: All the rooms are top notch. We would have been happy in any of them!

Traveling to Quebec and dislike long jaunts in the car so we stopped here. Perfect location. Continental breakfast of local cheeses and such. Very friendly hostess. Not much in Newport so can keep driving without feeling like you are missing out. ..that said, be prepared for feeling like you shouldn't spread out or get TOO comfy as the place is new and antiseptic clean and you have to ( would want to anyway ) take off your shoes as the floors are glistening wood. The furniture Swedsh and lots of Ikea. Just know what you are walking into. Hostess is the kind of person you really want to succeed in this town which has a lot to offer like Lake Mephramagog, but is in an out of the way ( yet JUST off the highway, just at the border) town. And you can get over the border on prettier back roads, too, - if you aren't hightailing it up ti Qyebec City. The Eastern Townships are swell.
