My family stayed here for two nights recently. The motel is right in town, but not on the lake. Our room was small but clean. The bed was not that great, hard and lumpy and my feet stuck over the end of what was supposedly a full size bed, and I am 5'6". I have never had that happen to me before with a full size bed! There was an iron and ironing board, nice touch. Small pool but was nice as it went from 3' to 6' for those of us who like to swim. Pool area very nice and clean. Large hot-tub, jets were not working. Equipment in fitness room was O.K. some broken machines. No treadmill. I might stay here again if I was in the area. I did not have much contact with the desk, although they were friendly and I had no problems with check-in even though they were very busy.

my husband and I stayed at the Newport city hotel on the weekend of may 20th,05.
We stayed on the second floor in a king sized room.It was a basic room that was over all very clean.The mattress was very uncomfortable and the pillows were standard hotel lumps.
There wasn't an outlet in the bathroom(kind of a pain if you need to blow dry your hair!)
The hotel itself is central to many restaurants and the beautiful water front of Newport.
