“A good choice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2005

A nice location for a visit to Middlebury College with the family. Clean and friendly with a somewhat "edge of town" location. Outside appearance was quaint New England with a similarly themed lobby. Rooms were standard issue.

If you're a runner, it's close to a walking path that takes you into and around the town. Ask at the front desk for directions.

One minor complaint, the room smelled vaguely of maple syrup, though there was no stickiness or stain...

Had an overnight stay while visiting Middlebury College. Very nice hotel. The staff was great. Bent over backwards to assist you. Rooms were spacious. Pool & exercise facilities were also nice. This hotel was reasonably priced. I would definitely stay here again, if in the area.

Spent an overnight here en route elsewhere. Lovely clean hotel, good facilities - pool, breakfast, computer access, sitting area. The rooms are very basic and not very appealing but for one night we didn't really care for the aesthetics! The staff are super nice and helpful. We ate dinner at a local Inn (The Westbury, I believe) where the food was wonderful.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2004

We stayed at this hotel in August, 2004. It opened earlier in the year. Very clean, bright and spacious rooms. It is located on Route 7, which is a main-yet-country road in Vermont. The center of Middlebury was only a mile away; easy to reach and plenty of parking by car, but there were sidewalks if you wanted to walk from the hotel. Middlebury has many quaint restaurants and shops, so be sure to spend some time in the center. There's also a wonderful, homey restaurant called The Dog Team Tavern just a little north of Middlebury off Route 7. Delicious dinners in a warm, friendly atmosphere!

I liked that the lobby area had a little "pantry store" which had beverages, ice cream, snacks, and perhaps some microwaveable meals. There was also a McDonald's across the street, if it's fast food you crave. The hotel is also next to a large Brooks Pharmacy so if you forgot something, it's easy enough to walk next door and buy it.

The restaurant at the Courtyard had a nice and fairly inexpensive buffet breakfast. All in all it was a great stay and I look forward to a return trip to this hotel!
